Flanging press for folding over a flange of a component, preferably of a vehicle part, the press being arranged in a stationary manner and including at least the following: (a) a basic structure with a flanging bed, against which the component can be pressed in a pressing direction in order for the flange to be folded over, (b) a flanging die unit with a flanging die for folding over the flange, (c) and a pressing drive for generating a pressing force which acts on the component in order for the flange to be folded over, (d) wherein the flanging die and the flanging bed can be moved relative to one another in the pressing direction by the pressing drive in order for the pressing force to be exerted, characterized in that (e) the pressing drive includes a bellows which can be subjected to the action of pressurized fluid, preferably compressed gas, and, under the action of pressure, acts on the flanging die unit or the flanging bed in the pressing direction and thus generates at least some of the pressing force, and the bellows has a bellows surface which extends transversely to the pressing direction and can be subjected to the action of the pressurized fluid.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS FOR MAKING A BRACKET AND TUBING ASSEMBLY

Invention relates to a manufacturing process for making a bracket and subset assembly, process including: step (a) of placing bracket within a forming tool and putting between first portion of said bracket and second portion of said bracket a subset having a tube element and an elastic pad, step (b) of actuating the forming tool for plastically deforming the bracket so the first and second portions of the bracket come closer one to the other and press subset, thus gripping subset between the first and second portions of bracket, and during the step of actuating the forming tool for plastically deforming bracket, step (c) of using a propping spacer, distinct from the subset, for stopping the second portion of the bracket at a predetermined clamping distance from the first portion of the bracket, to secure the subset without crushing it.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR FORMING A ROLL FOLD

A method for forming a hem by roller hemming may involve providing a first component with a flange portion having an edge and a second component, and producing a hem that connects the first and second components. The hem may be produced by a roller-hemming head that comprises a rolling edge and maneuvers essentially along the flange portion relative to the first component. The object of specifying a method for forming a hem by roller hemming, wherein the formation of wrinkles in the hem flange can be easily reduced or avoided, can be achieved, in the case of a method of the type in question, in that the rolling edge of the roller-hemming head, at least in part, takes up position on, and maneuvers along, the flange portion, and does so at a spacing from the edge of the flange portion.

Adjoining edges of adjacent honeycomb core panel sections are mechanically interlocked. In one embodiment, the method includes forming a first edge along a first cellular core panel section. The first edge includes a first plurality of edge cell walls along the first edge. The method further includes forming a second edge along a second cellular core panel section, wherein the second edge includes a second plurality of edge cell walls along the second edge. The first edge is positioned proximate to the second edge. At least a portion of at least one of the first plurality of edge cell walls is mechanically interlocked with at least a portion of at least one of the second plurality of edge cell walls to form a joint therebetween. A composite structure may be at least partially produced by such a method.

A system according to the principles of the present disclosure includes a crimp tool angle sensor, a flange section module, and a diagnostic module. The crimp tool angle sensor measures at least one of a roll angle of a crimp tool, a pitch angle of the crimp tool, and a yaw angle of the crimp tool. The flange section module identifies a flange section of a vehicle on which the crimp tool is disposed based on at least one of the roll angle, the pitch angle, and the yaw angle. The diagnostic module determines whether at least one of the roll angle, the pitch angle, and the yaw angle is within a predetermined range.

An elongated support frame carrying a jig at a first section of the support frame. The jig receives a plurality of picket and rail fencing members in a pre-defined arrangement for assembly. A plurality of swedge guns are mounted to a gun platform. The gun platform is carried at a second section of the support frame so that distal ends of the swedge guns are aligned with a receiving section of the jig. At least one of the jig and the gun platform is slidable along the support frame so that the swedge guns are received into hollow interiors of the picket fencing members and repositionable along the length of the picket fencing members. The swedge guns are operable to form an indentation on an interior surface of the picket fencing members causing an interlocking engagement with one of the rail fencing members.
