HEAVY-DUTY CONNECTIONS E.G. FOR AXLE/SUSPENSION SYSTEMS
20200247183 · 2020-08-06 ·

A vehicle component such as an axle spindle or suspension beam (3) is connected to a tubular vehicle axle (1) by fitting a connector sleeve (2) onto the axle and subjecting the assembly to a crimping operation in which plural depressions (206,2018) are formed by indentation in the connector sleeve and the axle wall at the connection region (11,12) to fix the connector sleeve on the tubular axle. In the described proposals a solid lubricant (4) such as molybdenum disulphide is applied at the connection region between the connector sleeve (2) and axle (1), before crimping. The further vehicle component (3) is then connected to the connector sleeve (2) by welding.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FORMING A NACELLE LEADING EDGE
20200246859 · 2020-08-06 ·

An apparatus for forming a nacelle leading edge includes an actuation assembly, a punch, and a die. The punch is in communication with the actuation assembly and annularly disposed about a first axis. The punch is configured to mate with an interior surface of a preform. The die is in communication with the actuation assembly and disposed within the first axis. The die is configured to retain an exterior surface of the preform. The actuation assembly is configured to effect relative motion between the punch and the preform. The actuation assembly is configured to offset the punch so that the punch is annularly disposed about a second axis, different than the first axis.

Embodiments of a crimping device for crimping a radially expandable and compressible prosthetic valve are disclosed. A crimping device can comprise a housing configured to receive a prosthetic valve in a radially expanded state. The housing member can include a funnel segment and an outlet in communication with the funnel segment. The crimping device can further comprise an actuator rotatably coupled to the housing, wherein rotation of the actuator relative to the housing causes the prosthetic valve to move axially through the funnel segment such that at least a portion of the prosthetic valve compresses radially by engagement with the funnel segment and exits the crimping device via the outlet.

A gas-charging and flanging machine (10) includes a sealed chamber (13a). The gas-charging and flanging machine is used for carrying out, inside the sealed chamber, charging of a gas into a workpiece (20) and flanging of the workpiece (20) by spinning and pressing. The gas-charging and flanging machine charges a gas into a workpiece and flanges the workpiece on the same machine such that production efficiency can be improved.

Expandable Connection With Metal-to-Metal Seal
20200232287 · 2020-07-23 ·

An expandable connection is configured such that a metal-to-metal seal is created upon expansion, even under different expansion ratios. The creation of the metal-to-metal seal can rely on a spring-back effect after expansion. A high pressure rating of the metal-to-metal seal that is created can be achieved with an oversized box face thickness. The expandable connection can also be configured to achieve a high tensile efficiency.

Pressing Tool for Pressing Fittings for Producing Pipe Connections and Method for Pressing Fittings

The invention relates to a pressing tool for pressing fittings to produce pipe connections, with two opposing pressing jaws, each having a pressing section and a lever section, and having a retaining element for swivel connecting the pressing jaws, wherein the pressing sections form a receiving section and wherein pressing the lever sections apart causes the receiving section to close. The technical problem of pressing fittings to produce pipe connections in a simple and cost-effective manner is solved by the fact that an actuator spindle, a spindle nut and at least two actuator levers are provided, that each actuator lever is swivel connected at one end to the lever section of a pressing jaw and that each actuator lever is swivel connected at another end to the spindle nut. The invention also relates to a method for pressing fittings for the production of pipe connections.
