An embodiment for disposing a sleeve on a fluid conduit includes positioning a sleeve through lead rollers, pressing sleeve edges to flatten the sleeve against its normal geometry, aligning the flattened sleeve with opposing guide channels defined in an passage through a sleeve guide, feeding the sleeve through the passage, and compressing the sleeve in the passage, letting the edges of the sleeve ride against the guide channels to open the sleeve. A length of the compressed sleeve exiting the guide may be cut using a heated device that fuses the sleeve material, leaving the sleeve clear to receive a fluid conduit. A collar may be disposed around an end of the cut sleeve and over the conduit, then compressed, with an end of the sleeve captured between the collar and end of the conduit. This compressing may define at least one raised portion in the collar.

Method for connecting a pipe, for liquid or gaseous media, with a plug connector

The invention relates to a method for connecting a pipe (3) for liquid or gaseous media with a plug connector (4), wherein a first casing section (12) of the plug connector (4) is deformed by means of a pressing tool in such a way that a pipe (3) positioned between the first casing section (12) and a second casing section (15) of the plug connector (4) is clamped. During the pressing process, the pressing force applied to the pressing tool is detected and a pressing force increase per unit of path length is calculated from the travel of the pressing tool and the pressing force. The detected pressing force increase per unit of path length is compared to a minimum required pressing force increase per unit of path length, and in the event, that the determined minimum required pressing force increase per unit of path length is not met, the plug connector (4) is identified as faulty.

Restrained plastic pipe joint and method of making same

A gasket for preventing the separation of a pipe joint formed between plastic pipes such as pipes manufactured from PVC. The invention provides a restrained pipe joint including a first pipe including a bell with a spigot entryway and a substantially V-shaped annular groove. The annular groove includes a front radial wall and a rear radial wall and a gasket seated in the annular groove. The gasket includes an inner radial face, an opening defined by the inner radial face and an outer radial face with a front radial section located adjacent to the front radial wall of the annular groove and a rear radial section located adjacent to the rear radial wall of the annular groove. A plurality of restraining segments is at least partially embedded in the gasket, each restraining segment including a toothed inner face and a smooth, sliding front radial face arranged to slide against the front radial wall of the annular groove and facilitate wedging of the segment between the plastic pipes.

Handheld pressing device

A handheld pressing device for connecting two work pieces, in particular a pipe and a press fitting by means of a pressing process, has a pressing tool with multiple pressing jaws. The pressing tool is connected to a converter driven by an electric motor. The electric motor and the converter are partly surrounded by a housing. The pressing device has at least one data detecting element, at least one data detecting element being a camera. Furthermore, the camera is used as a data detecting element for documenting pressing processes in a method.

Activation assembly for a press apparatus

A press apparatus includes a press assembly and an activation assembly. The press assembly includes a plurality of dies. The plurality of dies defines a center opening for receiving a work piece. The central opening defines a central longitudinal axis. The activation assembly is adapted to actuate the press assembly. The activation assembly includes a first switch and a second switch. The second switch includes a capacitive touch surface that faces in a direction toward the central longitudinal axis of the press assembly.

CRIMPING TOOL
20190291165 · 2019-09-26 ·

A crimping tool is described comprising a first crimping member, a second crimping member, at least one intermediate crimping member, a first sliding member and a second sliding member. The free ends of the first crimping member and the second crimping member form an opening of the crimping tool. The first crimping member, the at least one intermediate crimping member, and the second crimping member are sequentially hinged together via connecting devices. The first sliding member is slidably disposed on the free end of the first crimping member. The second sliding member is slidably disposed on the free end of the second crimping member. The first sliding member is adjacent to the second sliding member. The inner sides of the first crimping member, the at least one intermediate crimping member, the second crimping member, the first sliding member, and the second sliding member are formed to be pressed with the workpiece to be crimped. The crimping tool has a simple structure and good crimping performance, so that the workpiece is uniformly stressed and burrs on the workpiece can be reduced.

FITTING MEMBER, ANNULAR MEMBER, JOINED MEMBER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING JOINED MEMBER
20190291166 · 2019-09-26 ·

To provide a fitting member, an annular member, a joined member and a method of manufacturing the joined member, which prevent occurrence of a not-joined portion. A fitting member 10 has a fitting protrusion 10p which is protruded outward on an outside face 10s. An annular member 20 contains a space 20h in which the fitting member 10 is to be fitted. An annular member 20 has an annular protrusion 20p on an inside face 20f. When the fitting member 10 is fitted into the space 20h at a predetermined depth, the fitting protrusion 10p and the annular protrusion 20p fill not-joined portions which may be generated assuming that they are not provided. A joined member 30 is produced by fitting the fitting member 10 into the space 20h at the predetermined depth, so that a contact portion between the fitting member 10 and the annular member 20 is joined in solid phase.

METHOD AND SEMIFINISHED PRODUCT FOR PRODUCING AN AT LEAST PARTIALLY HARDENED PROFILED COMPONENT

The invention relates to a method for producing an at least partially hardened profiled component and to a corresponding semi-finished product (1) which simplifies the development process and reduces the investment costs in production machines. At first, a first profiled segment (19), which has a uniform cross-sectional shape (9, 10) along its extent (22), and a second profiled segment (20), which has a non-uniform cross-sectional shape (9, 10) along its extent (22), are joined together at a joining point (6) in order to form at least part of a semi-finished product (1). At the joining point (6), the first and the second profiled segments (19, 20) have cross-sectional shapes (9, 10) which substantially correspond with one another. After heating (25) to a hardening temperature, the semi-finished product (1) is formed in a forming tool (11) by means of internal high-pressure forming (26) or pressing to produce the profiled component (2) which, after the forming (26) within the forming tool (11), is hardened by quenching (27).
