A linking block includes a top panel, an inner perimeter wall downwardly extended from the middle of the top panel, a bottom panel connected to the bottom edge of the inner perimeter wall, an outer perimeter wall downwardly extended from the outer edge of the top panel and one or multiple holes located in the bottom panel. The invention also provides a method of forming the linking block, which includes a first step of providing a sheet material, a second step of stamping the sheet material into a shape having a top panel, an inner perimeter wall downwardly extended from the middle of the top panel, a bottom panel connected to the bottom edge of the inner perimeter wall and an outer perimeter wall downwardly extended from the outer edge of the top panel, and a third step of creating one or multiple holes in the bottom panel.

Spindle for a ball screw and method for producing same

The invention relates to a method for producing a spindle for a ball screw, including the following steps: introducing, at least in sections, a thread profile into a flat material section, shaping the material section to a hollow cylindrical case, two lateral edges of the hollow cylindrical case abutting each other and the thread profile being oriented radially outwards, connecting the two lateral edges of the hollow cylindrical case, and forming, at least in sections, a supporting structure on a radially inner face of the hollow cylindrical case to finish the spindle. A spindle for a ball screw in hybrid design can thus be manufactured in a simple manner. The spindle can be produced cost-effectively and yet has high wear resistance and excellent mechanical load-bearing capacity as well as light weight. The invention further relates to a spindle manufactured according to the invention, for use in a ball screw.

Nut and washer assembly

A nut and washer assembly includes a washer unit that is coupled to a nut. The washer unit includes a housing and a washer that is disposed within a sleeve on an inner surface of the housing such that the washer is inseparable from and axially rotatable with respect to the housing. The housing is attached to the nut such that the washer captured within the housing of the washer unit and the nut operate as a single unit.

High security fastener with external shroud retainer

An improved fastener comprising a fastener body orientated about a central axis and having a tool-engaging portion, a threaded fastening portion and a shroud-receiving portion; a shroud concentrically mounted in the shroud-receiving portion to rotate relative to the fastener body under an applied external torque and having an outwardly extending annular shoulder; the shroud-receiving portion comprising an inwardly deformed stop radially overlapping the outwardly extending annular shoulder of the shroud; and the deformed stop of the shroud-receiving portion and the annular shoulder of the shroud forming a shroud-retaining element restraining the shroud from movement in at least a first axial direction along the central axis.

Hollow metal screw and method of making
10406590 · 2019-09-10 · ·

A hollow screw and related process of making is provided, wherein the hollow screw is formed from a generally circular corrosion resistant stainless steel disk cut from flat roll stock. The hollow screw includes a head and an elongated and hollow shaft having a wall thickness between about 0.2 to about 0.7 millimeters extending therefrom and defining a shank portion and a threaded portion having a plurality of threads thereon with a rotational drive mechanism configured to facilitate tightening via the threads. The process involves annealing to soften the stamped hollow screw, followed by thread rolling, and then age hardening the hollow screw. As such, the resultant hollow screw is relatively lightweight, about 50% the mass of a solid core screw made from the same material, with a sufficient thread strength to meet most aerospace applications and contributes to important aircraft fuel economy.
