PRESS FORMING METHOD AND PRESS FORMING APPARATUS FOR AUTOMOTIVE OUTER PANEL
A press forming method for an automotive outer panel according to the present invention is a method for press forming a metal sheet 51 into an automotive outer panel 61 having a character line 63 and panel surface portions 65a and 65b by using a punch 3, a die 5, and a blank holder 7. The press forming method includes: a step of providing an elastic body 9 protruding toward the punch 3 side on a die-side forming surface portion 5b forming the panel surface portion 65a, and bringing the elastic body 9 into contact with the metal sheet 51 prior to the die 5; and a step of press forming while crushing the elastic body 9 and pressing the metal sheet 51, and the elastic body 9 is caused to protrude from the die-side forming surface portion 5b so that a frictional force of the crushed elastic body 9 and the metal sheet 51 is equal to or greater than an absolute value of a difference between tensions acting on. both sides of a portion 53 corresponding to the character line 63.

Pressed component manufacturing method and press apparatus
A method for manufacturing a pressed component including an elongated top plate, a wall having one end connected to a short direction end portion of the top plate, that curves with a convex shape bowing toward an opposite side to the top plate as viewed from an upper side of the top plate, and that includes a sharp curve portion, and a flange that is connected to another end of the wall, and that extends in a plate thickness direction of the wall toward the opposite side to the top plate side. The manufacturing method includes pressing to form an intermediate formed component including a preliminary flange and pressing to deform the preliminary flange to form the preliminary flange into the flange.

Heavy-duty connections e.g. for axle/suspension systems
A vehicle component such as an axle spindle or suspension beam (3) is connected to a tubular vehicle axle (1) by fitting a connector sleeve (2) onto the axle and subjecting the assembly to a crimping operation in which plural depressions (206,2018) are formed by indentation in the connector sleeve and the axle wall at the connection region (11,12) to fix the connector sleeve on the tubular axle. In the described proposals a solid lubricant (4) such as molybdenum disulphide is applied at the connection region between the connector sleeve (2) and axle (1), before crimping. The further vehicle component (3) is then connected to the connector sleeve (2) by welding.
Reinforcement member for vehicle, and method for manufacturing same
There is provided a reinforcement member for a vehicle which includes a cylindrical body section having a continuously closed cross section intersecting with a longitudinal direction. The cylindrical body section has a first surface, a second surface, and a third surface. The third surface has a fourth surface extending away from the second surface, and a fifth surface connecting the fourth surface and the first surface to each other. In a sectional view when viewed in the longitudinal direction, in a case where a virtual line connecting a first intersection portion where the first surface and the third surface intersect with each other and a second intersection portion where the second surface and the third surface intersect with each other is set, a third intersection portion where the fourth surface and the fifth surface intersect with each other protrudes outward with respect to the virtual line.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A DETENT PAWL
Parking detent pawls are known which are suitable for securely holding a vehicle in a parked state. The aim of the invention is to provide a detent pawl for a parking lock which is characterized by a high degree of operational reliability. For this purpose, a method is proposed for producing a detent pawl with a latching section for engaging into a locking toothing, a support section for rotatably supporting the detent pawl about a rotational axis, and a locking section for resting against a locking bolt which can be moved along the detent pawl, having the following steps: providing a detent pawl blank; providing a shaping tool with a shaping contour, said shaping contour having a load section and a guide section; and shaping the detent pawl blank in a shaping direction by means of the shaping tool, wherein a depression for receiving the locking bolt is produced on the locking section, the load section defines a load region of the depression for supporting the locking bolt in a locking position, and the guide section defines a guide region of the depression for guiding the locking bolt during an actuation movement.

METHOD FOR PRESS FORMING AND APPARATUS FOR PRESS FORMING AUTOMOTIVE OUTER PANEL
A method for press forming an automotive outer panel includes: providing an elastic body to a punch such that the elastic body abuts against a metal sheet away from a portion corresponding to a character line in the metal sheet; abutting a contact surface portion of the protruding elastic body against the metal sheet; and forming the character line with the ridgeline and the valley line by relatively moving the die toward the punch while abutting the contact surface portion against the metal sheet to deform the elastic body such that the elastic body becomes flush with the punch-side forming surface portion at a bottom dead center of forming. A protrusion amount of the elastic body from the punch-side forming surface portion is set such that the elastic body contacts the metal sheet before the ridgeline contacts the metal sheet to cause the metal sheet to become plastically deformed.
