FOLDABLE PLASTIC-STEEL CHAIR
A foldable plastic-steel chair comprises a seat board assembly, a backrest, and a metal supporting frame. The seat board assembly and the backrest are connected to the metal supporting frame, and the seat board assembly comprises a seat board. The seat board comprises a surface plate and a surrounding edge connected to a periphery of the surface plate and extending downward, and the seat board is a vacuum-formed plastic board. The seat board assembly further comprises a metal frame abutting a periphery of seat board, and a bottom end of the metal frame is bent outward to form a hook. A lower end portion of the surrounding edge of the seat board is disposed in the hook, and a portion of the metal frame abuts an inner side of the surrounding edge. The hook is fixedly clamped to a lower edge of the surrounding edge.
Upholstered furniture including molded furniture components
An upholstered piece of furniture with a frame including a pair blow molded hollow arm rest forms, wherein spanning wood frame members extend between the forms. The wood frame members secured to the forms with interference fits, and minimal threaded fasteners. The arm rest forms have through slots which allow the seat deck and arm upholstery to be pulled through and anchored with staples providing a secure attachment. Threaded fasteners clamp onto the polymer wall of the forms for attachment of frame members. A blowmolded backrest has a metal reinforcing arms connecting to a seat platform. Holes in arm rest allow upholstery panel connections with Christmas tree connectors. The connections to the arm rest forms and providing a geometrically rigid and robust sofa frame that is weighs less, is quicker to assemble, and is more robust. The finishing of the sofa is also quicker and easier than conventional sofas.

Flexible Sling Chair with Living Hinge
The present invention provides for construction of a variety of useful objects including chairs and ottomans from multiple polymers or high density polyethylene (HDPE) by utilizing a living hinge; the hinge comprising a single contiguous sheet of stock, the stock having some material removed rendering the sheet flexible and pliable; wherein some material removed forms a mesh or matrix; wherein the mesh or matrix has been optimized to allow for pliability while eliminating points of excessive stress; wherein the single contiguous sheet is bent in a predetermined shape; the single contiguous sheet relaxing into that predetermined shape over time; and wherein the bent shape retains flexibility under load and while returning to its predetermined shape when no longer under load.
SEAT CUSHION
A seat cushion comprises a relief portion to selectively provide cushioning to a user's sitz bones received when the user is seated on a seating surface. The selective cushioning provided by the relief portion to the user's sitz bones can be greater than cushioning provided by the remainder of the seat cushion to portions of the user's body other than the sitz bones. The relief portion can be in the form of a pair of relief pockets offset to be depressed below the second surface. A resiliency of the relief pockets is different from a resiliency of areas of the second surface surrounding the relief pocket. The first surface and the second surface of the seat cushion can be contoured so as to form a central core, a relief portion substantially surrounding the central core, and an outer portion defined so as to surround the relief portion.
Drop in seat deck for furniture assemblies
A drop-in seat deck for furniture assemblies. Various embodiments reduce the complexity and bulk of the seating frame, and also reduce the labor associated with assembly. Unlike the conventional spring suspensions, which apply constant spring loaded forces on the frame rails to maintain the springs in tension, the spring load force of the disclosed drop-in seat deck is provided by solely by the structure of the drop-in seat deck. Thus, the frame can be designed to support only the weight of the seated person is transferred to the rails of the seating frame, without consideration for pre-loading the seat deck. In various embodiments, dimensional changes to the seat deck occur under load. In some embodiments, these changes are accommodated by enabling a free end of the seat deck to slide on a support surface; in other embodiments, the changes are accommodated by flexures that are integral to the seat deck.
