A brazed plate heat exchanger (100) for exchanging heat between at least two fluids comprises several elongate heat exchanger plates (110) provided with a pressed pattern comprising depressions and elevations adapted to keep the plates on a distance from one another by contact points between the elevations and depressions of neighboring plates under formation of interplate flow channels for media to exchange heat. At least four port openings are placed in corner regions of the elongate heat exchanger plates and have selective fluid communication with the interplate flow channels such that the fluids to exchange heat will flow between port openings parallel to long sides of the elongate heat exchanger plates. A circumferential seal sealing off the interplate flow channels from communication with the surroundings is provided, and the heat exchanger plates are joined by brazing. The circumferential seal results partly from contact between skirts of neighboring plates contacting one another, said skirts extending at least partly along two sides of each heat exchanger plates, and partly from contact between flat areas extending along two other sides of the heat exchanger plates.

Profiles

An elongate profile having a first portion and a second portion, the first and second portions being joined together at a first joining portion, the first and second portions being non collinear, the joining portion comprising an array of raised or rebated formations, each formation extending across the joining portion in a direction which is non-parallel to the principal axis of the profile and flat lands being provided between successive formations in an array and the pitch between successive formations in an array being from 2 to 20 times, for example from 5 to 15 times, the thickness of the flatlands.

A method for obtaining a vertical or horizontal profiled element for the interconnection of plasterboard panels to walls, in particular to plasterboard walls that can be applied to in-wall frames for retractable sliding doors or for the provision of drywall dividing walls. The method entails a continuous machining of a metallic lamina by punching or drawing or rolling obtained by using two rollers, one acting as a die and the other acting as a punch, so as to obtain on the metallic lamina a plurality of holes, which are uniformly distributed according to a series of mutually parallel rows.

Micro-textured surfaces via low pressure rolling

A substrate (e.g., metal or non-metal sheet) can have multiple textures on a surface of the substrate. The various textures can be impressed or applied on the surface of the substrate by passing the substrate between multiple pairs of work rolls that each include at least one textured work roll for transferring a texture of the work roll onto the surface of the substrate. The pairs of work rolls apply the various textures on the surface of the substrate while maintaining a thickness of the substrate (e.g., with substantially no reduction in a thickness of the substrate). A single pass of the substrate between the pairs of work rolls can allow various different textures, patterns, or features to be applied to the surface of the substrate while the thickness of the substrate remains substantially constant.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRE-FORMING A METAL STRIP FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF ROLL FORMED AND WELDED TUBES

An apparatus and method for pre-forming a metal strip, having an embossing tool and a strip edge chamfering tool, the embossing tool having an embossing roll having a cylindrical surface with a central embossing portion, and the strip edge chamfering tool having an edge chamfering roll having a recessed central section and side sections on each side of the central section, and an anvil roll, the edge chamfering roll and the anvil roll being configured to receive and pass the metal strip in a clearance formed between the rolls, the clearance having a reduced height in the side sections, which are located in a position where the longitudinal side edges of the metal strip will pass, so that the longitudinal side edges on each side of the metal strip, and on the embossed side of the metal strip become chamfered when being passed between the pair of rolls.

HOLLOW CYLINDRICAL FILTER AND MANUFACTURING APPARATUS

Embodiments of the present invention provide a hollow cylindrical filter for removing efficiently foreign substances from fluids. This is performed by forming complicated passages including an axial direction and a radial direction in the filter. The hollow cylindrical filter is formed by winding a metal wire rod in a spiral and multilayered manner. The metal wire rod includes a recess formed throughout the entire length in a longitudinal direction, or recesses repeated along said longitudinal direction. Some wire rod layers extend in an axial direction of the hollow cylindrical filter while the adjacent wire rod layers extend in an intersecting direction, thereby forming a plurality of communication paths for communicating between the overlapping wire rod layers. Additionally, a space is formed between the recess of one wire rod layer and another adjacent wire rod layer, allowing the plurality of communication paths to communicate with each other.

Tubing with hydrophobic surface

A method of forming a heat exchanger tube, particularly suited for condensing applications, contemplates cold-rolling a metallic strip to emboss a hydrophobic surface texture, to thereby form an embossed surface on the metallic strip. The method includes roll forming the metallic strip to a tubular shape, with the embossed surface on the exterior of the tubular shape, and welding the edges of the roll-formed strip to form a heat exchanger tube. Cold-rolling to emboss a hydrophobic surface texture exhibiting a contact angle of at least about 75° is contemplated, with processing including heat-treatment to minimize degradation of the hydrophobic surface texture, and roll-forming to avoid deformation of the hydrophobic surface texture,
