METALLIC SHEET SECUREMENT
A method and apparatus (20) provide light-safe heating of advanced high strength steel metallic sheet(s) (28 and/or 30) for securement of metallic sheets by flow fasteners (31).
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING METAL PARTS WITH SPLIT ENDS JOINED
A method for manufacturing metal parts with split ends joined. An end of a metal plate or solid metal rod is split. The length of the incision is adjusted and a smooth split face is formed. A metal plate is secured by pinching both sides with a clamping device, or a solid metal rod is pinched on opposite portions on the periphery with a clamping device. The plate/rod is split longitudinally by slitting or cleaving the plate/rod by pressing a slitting or cleaving punch against the face of one end of the plate/rod. The splitting is advanced by repeating the operation of pressing the punch against the cleft of the splitting. In each splitting operation, the position of the clamping device is moved in advance of the next pressing by a stroke corresponding to the distance from one end of the plate/rod, to the distal end of a split-desired portion.
Condenser tubes with additional flank structure
A heat exchanger tube with a tube axis, a tube wall and with ribs extending around on the tube outer side. The ribs have a rib foot, rib flanks and a rib tip, wherein the rib foot projects substantially radially from the tube wall. The rib flanks are provided with additional structural elements which are arranged laterally on the rib flank. First material projections, which extend substantially in the axial and radial direction, adjoin second material projections which extend substantially in the axial and circumferential direction of the tube, wherein the first and second material projections have a common boundary line. The axial extent of the first material projections along this boundary line is less than the axial extent of the second material projections.
Method and apparatus for setting a screw
The invention relates to a method and to an apparatus for setting a screw, in particular a flow drilling screw. In accordance with the method, the screw is driven at a first revolution speed and at a first axial feed force during a time-limited first phase to drive the screw through at least one component. In the event that the screw does not penetrate the component during the first phase, the screw is automatically driven at a second revolution speed that is higher than a first rotation speed and/or at a second axial feed force that is greater than a first axial feed force during a second phase subsequent to the first phase.
COMPRESSIVE TORSION FORMING DEVICE
A compressive torsion forming device for processing a processing material using a first die and a second die facing each other includes a sliding portion that includes a first hydraulic chamber, and slides in accordance with a change in internal pressure of the first hydraulic chamber so as to move the first die in a direction of an axis; a rotating table provided with the second die and rotatable about the axis; a table support portion provided opposite to the second die with the rotating table interposed therebetween in the direction of the axis; and a rotational bearing that rotatably supports the rotating table with respect to the table support portion, and receives a force acting on the rotating table in a direction from the second die toward the rotating table.
Coupling member head
A coupling member head includes a holder configured to hold a coupling member at an end portion on a coupling target member side in an axial direction and configured to approach or separate from a coupling target member, a pair of electrodes, tips of the electrodes being positioned closer to the coupling target member side than a coupling member holding region of the holder, and a retraction mechanism configured to move the electrode to a radial outside of the holder when the holder approaches the coupling target member.
Bulk textured material sheeting
A process is provided for making bulk textured material sheeting. As a continuous supply of flat material sheeting is fed, the sheeting is repeatedly impacted with toothed knives, each knife creating a row of raised and generally pointed structures on the sheeting to texture the sheeting.
Method of reducing cycle time for flow drill screw operations
A method of reducing the cycle time required for flow-drill screw operations by providing a dimple on a part that is engaged by a flow-drill screw. A tip of the flow-drill screw engages a contact band at a location spaced from the tip of the distal end of the flow-drill screw and base portion of the dimple. Friction between the flow-drill screw tip and dimple creates a heat concentration area and results in displaced material fanning a threaded collar. The flow-drill screw is secured by the threads of the threaded collar.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A BICYCLE COMPONENT, BICYCLE COMPONENT AND BICYCLE CHAINSET
The present invention concerns a method for producing a bicycle component (10), characterised in that it comprises the following consecutive operations: a step of producing a part (15) comprising an inner cavity (52) that is open on one side; a step of positioning a plate (60) on the part (15) in order to cover the cavity (52); and a step of securing the plate (60) to the part (15) in order to obtain the bicycle component (10). The invention also concerns a bicycle component (10) and a bicycle chainset.
