Seating device and manufacturing method thereof
A manufacturing method of a seating device includes manufacturing an outer skin; manufacturing a core member via a foaming process; wrapping the core member in the outer skin, coupling a mounting plate at a bottom surface of the core member; and selectively coupling a mounting structure to the mounting plate to form the seating device. The outer skin is constructed to have a top skin layer adhered on a top surface of the core member, a side skin layer adhered on a side surface of the core member, and a bottom skin layer adhered on a bottom surface of the core member. Particularly, the top skin layer of the outer skin is adhered on the top surface of the core member edge-to-edge to initially align and retain the outer skin on the core member.
Meditation Chair
A chair having a chair back with an enlarged and curved seating surface is described. The raised seating surface has a front to back dimension (depth) substantially similar to its left to right dimension (width) approximately 0.80 meters. The seating surface is further curved upwardly on the left and right sides relative to the front to back center of the seating surface. In one variation, the radius of curvature pertaining to the curve is approximately 0.5 meters.
C-Shaped Coccyx, Sacrum, And Lumbar Seat Cushion
Apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed involving a seat cushion configured as a partially-open annular ring, including a circular hollow space in a center of the ring, and a radial-arc-shaped opening in the ring forming a trapezium-shaped hollow space. The cushion includes a top section, a middle section, and a base section, in which the top and middle sections form the partially-open annular ring. Both the circular hollow space and the trapezium-shaped hollow space are located corresponding to the user's spine and coccyx, with the trapezium-shaped hollow space located on a rear portion of the cushion. The circular hollow space frees the perineal region from external compression by avoiding having any portion of the center of the seat cushion pressing against it, and the trapezium-shaped hollow space frees the sacrococcygeal region from external compression by not having any portion of partially-open annular ring of the seat cushion pressing against it.
Pet Bed
The invention relates to a pet bed configurable as any of a plurality of cushion types or a blanket. The ped bed may be folded a first way and secured in place with a first attachment device to form a cushion with a first surface type. The ped bed may be folded a second way and secured with a second and third attachment device to form a cushion with a second surface type. The ped bed may be unfolded to form a blanket. Additionally, the pet bed is constructed of fully washable materials so that the pet bed may be washed in a typical household washing machine.
CHAIR, SEAT PORTION, AND BACKREST
A first aspect of the present disclosure provides a chair. This chair is provided with a seat portion in which a deformation mode of at least a portion of a seating surface of the seat portion is isolated in such that a target curved surface including a double-curved surface of a prescribed type, relative to a prescribed position, is formed irrespective of the position of the buttocks of a user when the user is seated.

SUPPORT SURFACE
A support surface including a cutout on a bottom surface of the support surface. The cutout, which can include a plurality of cutouts, provides a controlled structural collapse of the support surface by varying a stiffness in a cross-section. That is, the area in which the cutouts are positioned collapses more easily than the surrounding area of the support structure, thus making the area with the cutouts perceived as being softer. The cutouts can reduce the peak pressures on the portion of the user's body (for example, the user's ischial tuberosities) that is positioned over the cutouts. The support surface can also include a low-friction interface extending across a top surface of the support surface.
Dynamic postural device
The dynamic postural device comprises two oscillating elements having respectively: —a seating portion to support a buttock of a user; a supporting portion opposite to the seating portion and of a substantially convex shape; in which the supporting portion is adapted to allow the oscillation of the respective oscillating element as a result of the seating of the user.
Foam seat with removable nesting insert
A foam-based seat and an enclosure for a foam-based seat is provided. The foam-based seat includes a base, main body, a cutout opening formed in the main body, fitted fabric configured to encase the main body, and a removable nesting insert configured to friction fit within the cutout opening. The removable nesting insert can be inserted into the cutout opening, or removed, to provide a myriad of seating arrangements. The foam-based seat may constitute a variety of geometries, including one embodiment that is square with a square removable nesting insert, and another embodiment that is round with an expanded base and a circular nesting insert. The enclosure for a foam-based seat includes a rigid frame with two ends, an internal opening configured to circumscribe a foam-based seat, and a shelving unit that extends from the two ends of the rigid frame.
TILTING SEAT WITH LOWERED JOINT
A tilting seat for operators in a controlled environment, particularly for surgeons and the like, comprising a saddle, a chest support, a forehead support and a leg support connected to a base standing on the ground, such that the saddle, the chest support, the forehead support and the leg support are integrally movable with rotation about a horizontal-axis joint placed below the saddle, keeping the space over the joint free from movable elements while in use, guaranteeing the substantial lack of contamination in such space.
