A mechanism for raising and lowering an armrest for a seat includes an armrest, a rotatable hub, and an actuating linkage between the armrest and the hub, the rotatable hub having a cam that operates the actuating linkage to raise the armrest wherein the cam can rotate through a first angle of rotation where the actuating linkage is not operated a second angle of rotation where the actuating linkage is operated. The cam can rotate through a third angle of rotation where the actuating linkage is not operated, this angle being different to the first angle of rotation. The cam is torsionally linked to the rotation of a seat member.

A locking device for an armrest pole. The locking device comprises a housing element configured for slidably accommodating the armrest pole. A locking handle comprises an abutment end, the locking handle is rotatably connected to the housing element and configured for rotation between a locked position where the armrest pole is fixed in the locking device and an unlocked position where the armrest pole is slidable in the locking device. The locking device also comprises a wedge element comprising a wedge and an abutment portion, the abutment portion configured for being directly or indirectly biased by the abutment end, the wedge configured and arranged for at least partly insertion between a portion of the armrest pole and at least a portion of the housing element in the locked position.

This “active seating” provides for easy transitions between sitting and standing, shifting of weight, and conveys an open positive body language. Multiple embodiments and architectures are disclosed multiple configurations including; rigid, folding, and for quick disassembly. The chairs may be constructed of various rigid and flexible materials, with optional features including; armrests, footrests, caster wheels, cushioning, and a standing desk type work surface. The chair eliminates the need for connection to a base platform beneath the user's feet.

The connection structure comprises a mounting hole structure and a mounting structure correspondingly disposed on two main members to be connected; a step structure extends downwards and inwards on one side of the mounting hole structure, and two sides of the step structure are provided with limiting clamping points protruding in a direction parallel to an extending direction of the step structure; the mounting structure is configured to be a column structure, a bottom end of the column structure is provided with a shovel-shaped structure extending in one side of the column structure, and two sides of the shovel-shaped structure are provided with everted protrusions.

A console mounted armrest includes an adjustable post to raise and lower the armrest, and a linkage. The linkage defines the tilt of the armrest with respect to the post. A single control mechanism controls the motion of the post, and thereby also controls the tilt of the armrest to maintain a desirable orientation with respect to the sidestick. The control mechanism defines multiple positive lock-out positions with respect to the post such that the control mechanism will always engage one of the positive lock-out positions.

The body includes one or more recesses. The first member also includes one or more magnets disposed in the one or more recesses. The second member is releasably attached to the first member. The second member includes a cavity configured to receive the first member and one or more magnetizable plate members disposed in the cavity. The one or more magnetizable plate members are adjacent the one or more magnets when the first member is received in the cavity.

An armrest for a chair includes a first member and a second member. The first member includes a body extending in a longitudinal direction from a first end to a second end. The body includes one or more recesses. The first member also includes one or more magnets disposed in the one or more recesses. The second member is releasably attached to the first member. The second member includes a cavity configured to receive the first member and one or more magnetizable plate members disposed in the cavity. The one or more magnetizable plate members are adjacent the one or more magnets when the first member is received in the cavity.
