A molding sand reclamation method and reclamation system effectively separates magnetically attracted matter from molding sand. The molding sand reclamation method includes removing metal powder and metal pieces by magnetic separation with a first magnetic flux density and removing magnetically attracted matter by magnetic separation with a second magnetic flux density higher than the first magnetic flux density from molding sand separated from a casting by shot blasting, and removing by dry mechanical reclamation, from the molding sand, substances including carbonized matter adhered to the surface of the molding sand.

The invention relates to a separation-apparatus for separating from a particle-stream at least a first fraction with particles of a first group of dimensions, and a second fraction with particles of a second group of dimensions, comprising an infeed-device for the particle-stream, a rotatable drum having at its circumference plates, each plate having a radially extending hitting surface for the particles, at least a first receiving area proximal to the drum for receipt therein of particles of the first fraction, and at least a second receiving area distant from the drum for receipt therein of particles of the second fraction, wherein the apparatus has a housing so as to protect the particles from outside weather-conditions, allowing that the particles of the particle-stream to be processed by said apparatus have dimensions in the range 0-15 mm.

A method includes measuring a water content and a magnetized matter content of molding sand discharged from green sand casting equipment; comparing the measured water content with a first control value, and if the water content exceeds the first control value, drying the molding sand until the water content becomes equal to or less than the first control value; comparing the measured magnetized matter content with a second control value, and if the magnetized matter content exceeds the second control value, magnetically separating the molding sand until the magnetized matter content becomes equal to or less than the second control value; thereafter, reclaiming the molding sand by dry mechanical reclamation until a loss-on-ignition becomes equal to or less than a third control value; and classifying the molding sand until a total clay content becomes equal to or less than a fourth control value.

Method and System for Casting Metal
A metal casting system includes a cope mold portion, a drag mold portion, and a mold cavity. The cope mold portion comprises internal cope mold walls. The drag mold portion comprises internal drag mold walls. The cope mold portion and the drag mold portion comprise a molding material comprising a plurality of metal particles.
The mold cavity is representative of a mold pattern, wherein the internal cope mold walls and the internal drag mold walls define, at least in part, the perimeter of the mold cavity.
Method for casting cast parts
A method for casting cast parts in which a casting mould is provided. The casting mould is enclosed in a housing, forming a filling space between an inner surface section of the housing and an associated outer surface section of the casting mould. The filling space is then filled with a free-flowing filling material and molten metal is poured in the casting mould. As a consequence a binder of the mould material begins to vaporise and combust disintegrating the casting mould. During the filling of the filling space, the filling material has a minimum temperature, starting out from which the temperature of the filling material rises, to beyond a boundary temperature at which the vaporising binder ignites and combusts.
Method for Casting Cast Parts
A method for casting cast parts in which a casting mould is provided. The casting mould is enclosed in a housing, forming a filling space between an inner surface section of the housing and an associated outer surface section of the casting mould. The filling space is then filled with a free-flowing filling material and molten metal is poured in the casting mould. As a consequence binder of the mould material begins to vaporise and combust disintegrating the casting mould. During the filling of the filling space, the filling material has a minimum temperature, starting out from which the temperature of the filling material rises, to beyond a boundary temperature at which the vaporising binder ignites and combusts.

In the disclosed solution, a method is described for producing sand used in industry, in which method discarded power plant and/or foundry sand is processed into sand for use in products of the construction industry and/or into foundry sand via pre-treatment, drying, and after-treatment. In addition, an apparatus is described for producing sand used in industry, and use of discarded power plant and/or foundry sand in products of the construction materials industry or in foundry industry.
