PROCESS TO MAKE AND A CERAMIC FILTER FOR METAL CASTING
A method to manufacture a ceramic foam filter includes: sintering a filter body to a temperature greater than a molten metal to be filtered through the body; creating multiple tortuous path channels extending through the filter body individually having a repeated and controlled passage geometry creating a continuously changing diameter and area of a flow path through the multiple tortuous path channels causing localized increases and decreases in molten metal flow rate through the multiple tortuous path channels; and applying a mixture of at least one ceramic powder and at least one binder using additive manufacturing to shape the filter body including the multiple tortuous path channels.

Disclosed herein is a casting cluster for casting a body of a golf club head made of titanium or a titanium alloy. The casting cluster comprises a receptor and a plurality of runners coupled to the receptor and configured to receive molten metal from the receptor. The casting cluster also includes at least twenty-eight main gates. At least two of the main gates are coupled to each of the runners and each main gate is configured to receive molten metal from a corresponding one of the plurality of runners. The casting cluster further comprises at least twenty-eight molds. Each mold of the at least twenty-eight molds is configured to receive molten metal from a corresponding one of the main gates and to cast a body of a golf club head that has a volume of at least 100 cm.sup.3.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR FILTERING METALS
An apparatus and method for filtering molten metal (M), such as aluminum or an aluminum alloy includes at least one ceramic foam filter or any other type of filtration media such as porous tube or alumina balls disposed in a receptacle (12) for the molten metal (M). A vibrator vibrates at least one of the filter, the receptacle (12) or the metal and may be used to induce priming, filtering and/or drainage of the filter. The vibrator may be retrofitted to an existing filter system and may be adjustable in frequency and amplitude. The vibration may be continuous over a given period or produced in a single shock.

Spiral-orifice ceramic filter for metal casting
A spiral-orifice ceramic filter for metal casting, including spiral channels and two drain openings, where the spiral channels are distributed in a ceramic substrate in a staggered manner. By adoption of the spiral channel structure, molten metal may rotate to generate a centrifugal force while flowing forwards so as to promote separation of inclusions. The spiral-orifice ceramic filter for metal casting includes the following components: 90-95 wt % of MgO, 4-8 wt % of SiO.sub.2 and 2-4 wt % of ZrO.sub.2. Therefore, the spiral-orifice ceramic filter for metal casting has high strength under normal temperature and optional thermal impact resistance under high temperature, and may tolerate the impact of molten metal at 1700° C. or higher without break. The ceramic substrate and the spiral channel are superficially coated with one layer of functional oxide prepared from CaO.2Al.sub.2O.sub.3, CaO.6Al.sub.2O.sub.3, Al.sub.2O.sub.3, TiO.sub.2, or Re.sub.2O.sub.3.
Casting tool and method for producing a piston for an internal combustion engine
A casting tool for a piston may include a casting mold for forming a piston part from a casting melt and a casting head including a feeder for feeding the casting melt into the casting mold. The casting head may include a ring-shaped groove, and the groove may include an inner groove flank for forming the casting melt into a circumferential, ring-shaped sealing rib such that an inner rib flank of the sealing rib rests with a sealing effect against the inner groove flank when the casting melt solidifies in the groove. Additionally or alternatively, the casting head may include a ring-shaped collar, and the collar may include an outer collar flank for forming the casting melt to provide a circumferential, ring-shaped sealing groove such that an outer groove flank of the sealing groove rests with a sealing effect against the outer collar flank when the casting melt solidifies.
HEATING METHOD FOR CASTING MOLD, AND CASTING DEVICE
A casting mold is provided with a cavity portion and an overflow portion, and the overflow portion is connected to a gas flow path (suction path). A valve (an on-off valve, a shut-off valve) is provided between the gas flow path and the overflow portion. A heating method for a casting mold includes a step of setting the pressure in the cavity portion to a second pressure by sucking gas in the overflow portion and in the cavity portion while the valve is kept open for a second time period shorter than a first time period during casting. The heating method further includes a step of heating the casting mold by supplying molten metal into the cavity portion set at the second pressure, and solidifying the molten metal.

Methods for producing 2024 and 7075 aluminum alloys by recycling waste aircraft aluminum alloys
The present invention relates to techniques for producing 2024 and 7075 aluminum alloys by recycling waste aircraft aluminum alloys, which belong to technical fields for circular economy. The present invention develops techniques for obtaining the 2024 and 7075 aluminum alloys by subjecting waste aircraft aluminum alloys as raw materials to pretreatment, smelting, impurity removal, melt ingredient assay, ingredient adjustment, refining, and casting. Through utilizing the waste package aluminum alloys and the waste aluminum pop-top cans to adjust the ingredients, the waste aircraft aluminum alloys would be recycled at a lower cost without downgrading. The present invention has some advantages, such as low cost, and applicability for industrial production, as well as prominent economic benefit.
