Casting system
Provided is a system for casting molten metals. The system includes a mould comprising a casting cavity having an inlet, and a bore between an upper surface of the mould and the inlet. The system further includes a shroud comprising a funnel and a hollow shaft, wherein the funnel is located outside of the mould, adjacent the upper surface, and the hollow shaft is received within the bore and is moveable therein. A lifting mechanism is located on the upper surface of the mould, the lifting mechanism being operable to lift the funnel of the shroud away from the upper surface for bringing the shroud into engagement with a ladle nozzle. Also provided is a method for casting molten metals using the system.
Additively manufactured integrated casting core structure with ceramic shell

Method of producing structure for producing casting, and structure such as mold
Provided is a method of producing a structure for producing a casting, including: a process (I) of obtaining a slurry composition containing an organic fiber, an inorganic fiber, a thermosetting resin, and water; a process (II) of obtaining a fiber laminate by subjecting the slurry composition to papermaking; and a process (III) of dehydrating the fiber laminate and thereafter drying the resultant, in which the process (I) includes a process (I-1) of beating a mixture containing the organic fiber and water, a process (I-2) of mixing the mixture obtained in the process (I-1) and water, and a process (I-3) of mixing the mixture obtained in the process (I-2) and the inorganic fiber, the thermosetting resin is mixed in at least any of the process (I-1), the process (I-2), and the process (I-3), and an average fiber length of the inorganic fiber in the structure for producing a casting is 1 mm or longer and 5 mm or shorter.
THERMALLY DECOMPOSING BUILD PLATE WITH CASTING MOLD FOR FACILE RELEASE OF 3D PRINTED OBJECTS
Additive manufacturing structures and methods that enable the facile release of 3D printed parts are described. In one implementation, an additive manufacturing structure includes: a body; and a recessed section formed through a surface of the body, the recessed section comprising: a pour hole for filling the recessed section with a liquid metal or metal alloy that solidifies into an insert having a surface for forming a 3D object in a 3D printing device; and one or more air holes configured to release air displaced by the liquid metal or metal alloy.

Device for producing a cylinder crankcase using the low-pressure or gravity casting method
A device for producing a cylinder crankcase using a low-pressure casting method or a gravity casting method. The device includes an outer casting mold which includes at least one mold part which, in an assembled state, forms a mold cavity that reproduces, for casting purposes, an outer contour of the cylinder crankcase. A region of the mold cavity forms a cylinder space of the cylinder crankcase. A dosing furnace contains a liquid metal. At least one gate is arranged geodetically below the mold cavity and via which the dosing furnace can be fluidically connected to the mold cavity. Sprue bushings project into the region of the mold cavity that forms the cylinder space of the cylinder crankcase. Each of the at least one gate is connected to one of the sprue bushings.

Device and method for filtering molten metal
A device and method for transferring filtered molten metal to a die casting mold. The device and method include a casting filtration system that includes a funnel and a continuously replaceable filter placed fluidly between a molten metal source and a casting mold. Both the funnel and filter are automatically moved into cooperation with a molten metal receptacle such as a shot sleeve prior to each casting operation, and then automatically moved out of the way so that pressurization of the filtered molten metal may take place in the receptacle. In addition, the filter may be formed on a continuous strand such that indexed movement of the strand will advance the used portion of the filter out of the way to make room for a new unused filter portion that will be ready for a subsequent repeated casting operation.
Modular spruing arrangement
A modular spruing system apparatus contains a base section, a main sprue cone, a center rod, a plurality of trunk sections, a plurality of arm sections, and an end cap. The main sprue cone is mounted onto the base section. The center rod centrally traverses through the base section and the main sprue cone so that the user can design a spruing tree of desired height. A center rod receiving hole of each of the plurality of trunk sections allows the center rod to traverse through the plurality of trunk sections when removably attached to each other. Next, the plurality of arm sections is attached to the plurality of branch sections. The plurality of arm sections can be fixed or removably attached to the plurality of branch sections. When the desired height is reached, the plurality of trunk sections is fastened together with the end cap.
