One-piece feeder body for use while casting metals
The invention relates to a single-part feeder body for use as a feeder insert or component of a two-part or multi-part feeder insert in metal casting, having a feeder wall which at least partially delimits a feeder cavity for receiving liquid metal, wherein the feeder wall has an inner surface facing toward the feeder cavity, an outer surface for bearing against a mold material that surrounds the feeder body in certain regions, and a passage opening for the liquid metal into the feeder cavity, wherein the feeder wall has, on the inside, one, two or more material recesses for forming one or more outwardly protruding projections on the metal solidifying within the feeder cavity.
Casting mold
A casting mold includes a cavity for molding a product, and a pouring basin and a passageway that guide molten metal into the cavity. The passageway includes, at portions thereof positioned below the pouring basin and the cavity, bent portions (a first bent portion, a second bent portion) that change the advancing direction of the molten metal, and the casting mold further includes a cover member, which covers the inner wall of the bent portion, allows the passageway positioned on the upstream side of the bent portion to communicate with the passageway positioned on the downstream side of the bent portion, and has a lower thermal conductivity than the base material of the mold.

Feeder system
The present invention relates to a feeder system for use in metal casting operations utilising casting moulds, and to feeder sleeves and breaker cores for use in the feeder system. There is provided a feeder system for metal casting, the feeder system comprising a feeder sleeve mounted on a breaker core, the feeder sleeve having a first end and an opposite second end, a longitudinal axis extending between the first and second ends, and a continuous sidewall extending generally around the longitudinal axis between the first and second ends, the sidewall defining a cavity for receiving molten metal during casting, and the breaker core defining an open bore therethrough for connecting the cavity to the casting, wherein the first end of the feeder sleeve comprises a base portion which is mounted on the breaker core, and the second end of the feeder sleeve comprises a planar roof portion and a curved or chamfered portion extending around the periphery of the roof portion, for connecting the sidewall and the roof portion.
Casting apparatus
A casting apparatus for a cylinder block prevents deformation of a core pin and a cast passage formed by the core pin due to impact of molten metal when casting. Embodiments include a first side mold having a first core pin, a second side mold having a second core pin, a third mold having a molten metal inlet, and a metal dowel. The molten metal inlet is disposed so the inflow direction of molten metal intersects the axial direction of the first and second core pins, which are butted against each other at mold clamping and constitute a core for forming a main gallery for lubricant. The metal dowel is disposed between the molten metal inlet and a butt portion between the first and second core pins so that the butt portion is covered by the metal dowel from the upstream side in the inflow direction of the molten metal.

Casting mold
A casting mold includes a cover member covering the inner wall of a bent portion (a first bent portion, etc.) of a passageway. The cover member has a bottomed cylindrical shape having an axis extending in an up-down direction, and includes an upper hole, lateral holes, and at least one flange (a side wall flange). At least one of a fixed mold and a movable mold includes a flange housing groove in a separation surface. When the cover member is disposed in the bent portion and the casting mold is closed, the flange is housed in the flange housing groove, and the cover member is held in a state where a gap is formed between the inner wall of the bent portion and the outer wall of the cover member.

Lead delivery apparatus
A lead delivery apparatus for a cast on strap machine is arranged to deliver a predetermined volume of molten lead to a mould. The apparatus includes a first needle valve, a second needle valve, and a housing. The housing has a reservoir including an inlet and an outlet. The reservoir inlet is in fluid communication with a molten lead supply. The reservoir is supplied with molten lead during use such that the molten lead in the reservoir is maintained at a constant height.
