Method for Preventing Defect Caused by Shift in Cavity Parts
A method is provided for measuring a shift between a carrier for a pattern (a carrier plate) and a flask and preventing a defect caused by a shift in the cavity parts. The method for preventing a defect caused by the shift in the cavity parts in molding a cope and a drag with flasks by using a cope flask (110) that is assembled with a carrier plate (130) for the cope flask and a drag flask (120) that is assembled with a carrier plate (140) for the drag flask, comprises the steps of measuring a shift between the carrier plate (130) for the cope flask and the cope flask (110), measuring a shift between the carrier plate (140) for the drag flask and the drag flask (120), measuring a shift between the cope flask (110) and the drag flask (120) that have been assembled, determining if a shift in cavity parts is within an allowable range, wherein the data on the shift is obtained based on the shift between the carrier plate (130) for the cope flask and the cope flask (110), the shift between the carrier plate (140) for the drag flask and the drag flask (120), and the shift between the cope flask (110) and the drag flask (120, that have been assembled.
Method for Preventing Defect Caused by Shift in Cavity Parts

Molding flask for a molding machine and a molding process using the molding flask
A flask for containing mold sand within it prevents any mold shifting or mold dropping. Each of an upper flask 2 and a lower flask 3 includes a body that defines an opening in which a sand mold is to be molded. The body has at least one inlet 101 for introducing the mold sand into the opening. Two flanges 102 are extended from the body such that they are opposed to each other across the opening. Each flange has a through bore. The flask also includes engaging members for engaging an actuator in the outside of the flask such that a force or forces from said actuator could be transmitted to the flask. An upper flask 104 and a lower flask 105 are opposed to each other across a pattern plate 107. They are integrally assembled to make a flask unit by means of a pair of connecting rods 106 that are fitted in each bore.
Molding flask for a molding machine and a molding process using the molding flask
A flask for containing mold sand within it prevents any mold shifting or mold dropping. [Solution] In an automatic flask mating device, an external force applied to a cope with a cope molding flask M1 during flask mating is detected by means of a physical quantity detection sensor 60, quantified by a computation/storage/determination processing device 61, and then compared with a numerical value at a normal time for determination to thereby determine whether the flask mating has normally completed and detect flask mating misalignment. A force sensor is preferably used as the physical quantity detection sensor.

SAND MOULDING MACHINE AND METHOD OF PRODUCING SAND MOULD PARTS
The moulding machine includes a moulding chamber having at least one chamber end wall (8) provided with a pattern plate adapted to form a pattern in a mould part and associated with a reference pattern block positioned in fixed relationship to a pattern of said pattern plate and adapted to form a reference pattern in an external face of a mould part. A detection system detects the position of a pattern face of the reference pattern of the sand mould part. A transverse and/or a rotational compaction position of a pattern plate is adjustable by means of at least one actuator (91, 92, 119). Said actuators are controlled by means of a control system on the basis of successive position detections performed by the detection system of pattern faces of reference patterns of compacted sand mould parts travelling along said path of travel.
SAND MOULDING MACHINE AND METHOD OF PRODUCING SAND MOULD PARTS
The moulding machine includes a moulding chamber having at least one chamber end wall (8) provided with a pattern plate adapted to form a pattern in a mould part and associated with a reference pattern block positioned in fixed relationship to a pattern of said pattern plate and adapted to form a reference pattern in an external face of a mould part. A detection system detects the position of a pattern face of the reference pattern of the sand mould part. Said actuators are controlled by means of a control system on the basis of successive position detections performed by the detection system of pattern faces of reference patterns of compacted sand mould parts travelling along said path of travel.
