DIE FOR A CONTINUOUS CASTING INSTALLATION
A die (for a continuous casting installation) that includes a movably mounted frame having a first subframe and a second subframe; a first broad-side insert which is positioned on the first subframe; and a second broad-side insert which is positioned on the second subframe. Narrow sides each having a narrow-side copper plate and abuting the two broad-side inserts are positioned between the two broad-side inserts. The die also has: a clamping device which is designed to exert, on the subframes, a clamping force that acts between the subframes; and an oscillation drive which is designed to make the frame oscillate in and counter to a horizontal width direction (H) relative to the narrow sides. A spring band assembly which guides the subframes is positioned on each subframe on sides which are opposite one another in the width direction (H).
Gas pressure controlled casting mold
A gas pressure controlled casting mold is disclosed having a hot-top introducing a molten metal of aluminum or aluminum alloy, and a mold body which passes the molten metal of aluminum or aluminum alloy introduced from the hot-top through a molten metal passage portion for cooling and solidification and semi-continuously or continuously casting a billet of aluminum or aluminum alloy. A wall surface of the molten metal passage portion of the mold body is provided with a plurality of lubricating oil blow-out holes for blowing out a lubricating oil. A lubricating oil supply passage is communicatively connected to each lubricating oil blow-out hole and is independently formed at least in a range of a heat affected portion in the mold body. This allows the mold body to be reliably cooled regardless of the difference in the temperature and casting speed conditions and thus can achieve favorable continuous casting.

A gas pressure controlled casting mold is disclosed having a hot-top introducing a molten metal of aluminum or aluminum alloy, and a mold body which passes the molten metal of aluminum or aluminum alloy introduced from the hot-top through a molten metal passage portion for cooling and solidification and semi-continuously or continuously casting a billet of aluminum or aluminum alloy. Continuous casting apparatus, comprising a mold and a crystallizer for the continuous casting of a metal product. The mold is provided with primary cooling means using a cooling fluid and associated with the walls of the crystallizer. A plurality of cooling members is installed downstream of the mold to perform a secondary cooling of the product, said cooling members comprising a plurality of delivery nozzles configured to deliver a liquid for cooling the product.

A mold for semi-continuous casting of metal strands from liquid metal, comprising a mold body provided with at least one mold cavity. The at least one mold cavity comprises a liquid metal inlet defined by a nozzle plate; an insert defining a perimeter wall intended to be in contact with the metal leaving said liquid metal inlet; a mold outlet; a plurality of spray nozzles for spraying cooling fluid onto the metal strand, the spray nozzles being preferably provided in the insert. The mold body is provided with a channel for cooling fluid. The insert is removable and is made from a metallic material. The mold is useful for casting aluminium strands.
