SLIDING MEMBER
A sliding member includes a back-metal layer including an Fe alloy and a sliding layer including a copper alloy including 0.5 to 12 mass % of Sn and the balance of Cu and inevitable impurities. A cross-sectional structure of the sliding layer includes first copper alloy grains in contact with a bonding surface and second copper alloy grains not in contact with the bonding surface. The first and second grains have an average grain size D1 and D2 respectively. D1 is 30 to 80 m; and D1/D2=0.1 to 0.3. In the cross-sectional structure, the second grains includes third grains that includes internal grains therein that are not in contact with a grain boundary of the third grains. A total area S1 of the third grains and a total area of the second copper alloy grains S2 satisfy: S0/S2=0.25 to 0.80.
TUBULAR SHAPE CASTING APPARATUS
A system for casting a length of a pole of a tubular shape with molten metal. The system comprises a crucible for containing the molten metal; a pouring spout fluidly connected to the crucible; and a plunger for plunging in the crucible to increase level of the molten metal in the crucible and thereby forcing a flow of the molten metal from the crucible to the pouring spout. The system further comprises a casting ring for receiving the molten metal poured out of the pouring spout; a motor for rotating the casting a cooling assembly for cooling the molten metal; and a pulling assembly for pulling the pole out of and away from the casting ring as the molten metal solidifies.
Electric vehicle induction machine
Provided herein are systems, apparatuses, and methods of providing a centrifugally cast rotor assembly for an induction motor of an electric vehicle. The rotor assembly includes a rotor lamination stack with a cylindrical shape that terminates in a first end surface and a second end surface. The rotor lamination stack has multiple lamination discs, and each lamination disc has multiple rotor slots. The rotor assembly further includes copper bars disposed within the rotor slots, a first intermediary end ring disposed at the first end surface, and a second intermediary end ring disposed at the second end surface. A centrifugally cast first copper end ring that electrically and mechanically couples each of the copper bars is located proximate the first end surface, and a centrifugally cast second copper end ring that electrically and mechanically couples each of the copper bars is located proximate the second end surface.
Slide material and method for manufacturing same, and slide member
Provided are a slide material in which the joining strength between a Bi-containing copper alloy layer and a substrate is improved, and a method for manufacturing the slide material. The slide material according to the present invention has a substrate and a copper alloy layer. The copper alloy layer comprises a copper alloy containing 4.0-25.0 mass % of Bi and has a structure in which Bi phases are scattered in a copper alloy structure. The contact area ratio of Bi phases of the copper alloy layer at the joining interface with the substrate is not more than 2.0%. The slide material is manufactured by casting a molten copper alloy onto a substrate and causing the copper alloy to solidify unidirectionally.

Casting method
A method for producing cast items in a casting method, wherein a charge of a conductive material is introduced into the sphere of influence of at least one alternating electromagnetic field, so that the charge is kept in a levitating state. The melt is poured into moulds in order to produce turbine blades, prostheses or turbocharger impellers.
