Wet cylinder liner for internal combustion engines, process for obtaining a wet cylinder liner, and internal combustion engine
A wet cylinder liner for internal combustion engines may include a cylindrical body composed of a ferrous alloy having a circumferential outer surface. The cylindrical body may include a first layer and a second layer disposed sequentially on the outer surface. The first layer may include at least one of at least one silicon and at least one two-component epoxy adhesive. The second layer may include a silane-elastomer compound. The silane-elastomer compound may include nanoparticles of silicon oxide and an adhesion modifier additive. The second layer may be configured as an interface between a cooling fluid and the first layer, as well as to resist erosion by cavitation. The first layer may facilitate an interface for resistance at high temperatures.

Casting mold
Provided is a casting mold with which it is possible to apply air-blow to a bottom part of a groove in a core without moving forward/backward the core relative to the mold body. This casting mold is provided with a first mold and a second mold for forming, between the first mold and the second mold, a cavity used to produce a cast article, wherein the second mold has a second mold body and a core, which protrudes from the second mold body in a first direction toward the first mold and is used to forms a hollow part in the cast article, the core is provided with a groove part that opens in the first direction and is recessed in a second direction opposite from the first direction, and the second mold is provided with an air supply flow passage for supplying air for blowing toward a bottom part of the groove part.
Hollow article made of amorphous metal
A method for producing a hollow article made of amorphous metal comprising the steps of: a) providing a metal composition, b) melting the composition according to step a) in order to obtain a melt, c) introducing the melt according to step b) into a cavity of a casting mold, the casting mold comprising an inner core, at least a portion of the lateral surface of the inner core being surrounded by a separation element, d) cooling the melt in the casting mold in order to obtain a molded part made of amorphous metal, e) removing the inner core and the separation element from the molded part according to step d) in order to obtain a hollow article made of amorphous metal. The present invention also relates to a hollow article made of amorphous metal, more particularly to a pipe made of amorphous metal.

Cylinder liner and method for producing same
Disclosed is a cylinder liner having a high bonding strength to a cylinder block. Further disclosed is a method for producing the same. The cylinder liner uses a silicon-aluminum alloy as a material; a plurality of protrusions are formed on the external surface thereof; and the protrusions each contain a pillar section extending from the external surface, and a head section formed at the end of the pillar section.

Method for producing a piston
A method for producing a piston may include forming a piston blank in a first forming tool such that the piston blank surrounds a ring carrier configured to receive a piston ring via positive engagement after producing the ring carrier by a sintering process. The piston blank, at least in a circumferential region disposed at a piston head, may be composed of a light metal alloy suitable for forging. The method may also include removing the piston blank from the first forming tool and placing the piston blank in a second forming tool, and inserting a holding-down tool into the second forming tool to hold the ring carrier down. The method may further include pressing a final forming punch into the second forming tool to deform the piston blank and form a piston.

ALUMINUM FOAM CORE PISTON WITH COAXIAL LASER BONDED AEROGEL/CERAMIC HEAD
An insulated composite piston head that includes three or more layers is formed and used in a combustion engine. The first layer is an aluminum or aluminum alloy foam core. The second layer is a metal layer that at least partially encapsulates the foam core; wherein the metal layer is selected to be aluminum or an aluminum alloy. The third layer is a layer of an insulating material located on at least one surface of the metal layer. The deposition of the insulating layer is accomplished via the use of a coaxial laser process.
