PISTON FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, AND PRODUCTION METHOD AND PRODUCTION DEVICE FOR PISTON FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

Piston has crown portion 2 having crown surface 2a defining combustion chamber, thrust-side and anti-thrust-side skirt portions 3a, 3b formed integrally with crown portion and sliding on cylinder wall surface, a pair of apron portions 4a, 4a joined to skirt portions in circumferential direction, recessed portion 6 formed on back surface that is opposite side to crown surface and extending between skirt portions along substantially longitudinal direction, and a plurality of protrusions 7 formed integrally with bottom surface of recessed portion and extending along arrangement direction of skirt portions. At least one end edge in longitudinal direction of protrusion is integrally connected to inner side surface, facing one end edge of protrusion, of recessed portion. Adequate transcription performance to molding surface can therefore be ensured while removing remains of air on bottom side of recessed portion of mold for molding protrusions on crown portion back surface during casting.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A COOLING CHANNEL PISTON AND COOLING CHANNEL PISTON PRODUCED BY SUCH A METHOD

A method for producing a cooling channel piston may include producing a salt core blank by pressing and sintering a pure salt material having a surface roughness R.sub.z of at most 60 μm. The method may also include one of immersing the salt core blank into a saturated solution of the salt material, or spraying the salt core blank with a saturated solution of the salt material. The method may also include drying the salt core blank to form a salt core having a surface roughness R.sub.z of at least 200 μm. The method may further include placing the salt core in a casting mold, and casting the cooling channel piston from a metallic casting material.

METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A CYLINDER HEAD FOR AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

A method for the production of a cylinder head for an internal combustion engine. The production method presentes the steps of: dividing the cylinder head into a main part, where there is the flame deck making up the crown of each cylinder, and an operating part, where there are the housings of the control means of the valves; manufacturing, at first, the sole main part of the cylinder head by means of a casting process in a mould; and manufacturing, subsequently, the operating part of the cylinder head by means of additive manufacturing, which adds layer upon layer starting from the previously manufactured main part of the cylinder head.

CYLINDER CRANKCASE INCLUDING A FOREIGN OBJECT INCLUSION FOR CAST REDUCTION AND FOR IMPROVED CLEANLINESS OF THE COMPONENT
20220025831 · 2022-01-27 ·

A method is for generating a cylinder crankcase including a foreign object inclusion for cast reduction and for the improved cleanliness of the generated component. The cast material is in particular removed or pushed from the areas between the tie-rods (2) below the water jacket (1), to avoid dirt input into the component during later engine operation. The areas below the water jacket (1) between the tie-rods (2) are designed as a separate tie-rod core (3), and the bolts (4) used during later installation at the water jacket core (5) are enclosed in the tie-rod core (3), so that the tie-rod core (3) is completely surrounded by cast material in the component following the cast and the bolt (4) has coalesced with the cast, and the tie-rod core (3) remains in the generated component and is located in an encapsulated space generated by the cast material.

A casting device includes a bore formation core and a water jacket formation core. When a cavity is formed, gas existing in a space between both cores is suctioned through a flow path formed in the bore formation core under operation of a suctioning device. When the bore formation core is viewed from a side, this flow path exists above a virtual axial line that passes a center of the bore formation core and extends along a longitudinal direction of the bore formation core.
