Die casting piston and ring assembly
The invention relates to a die casting ring (1) internally fitted with radial teeth (11) to be engaged into matching seats (22) provided on a piston (2). This piston-ring assembly prevents mutual rotation or axial translation, in addition to ensuring an optimal seal against infiltration of liquid metal during the die casting process. When the ring has a cutout (10), it can be mounted accurately onto the piston because the teeth (11) allow the cutout to be positioned anywhere relative to the piston.
Injection device of light metal injection molding machine
An injection device of a light metal injection molding machine of the disclosure includes: a melting cylinder that heats and melts a billet pushed along a cylinder hole and stores molten metal; an injection cylinder that injects, by an inserted plunger, the molten metal supplied by free fall due to the own weight from the melting cylinder through a communication path that can be opened and closed; and a molten metal pot in which a molten metal supply/discharge port connected to the melting cylinder is opened at a location in the melting cylinder that does not face an opening of the communication path on the melting cylinder side, and molten metal in an amount in excess of a capacity that can be stored in the melting cylinder is stored.
DIE CASTING MACHINE
A die casting machine includes a clamping device 7 which opens and closes and clamps a pair of die halves, an injection apparatus which performs injection to the pair of die halves by making a plunger move forward in a sleeve communicated with a space between the pair of die halves, and a control device which controls the clamping device and injection apparatus. The control device includes an injection control part and press-use clamping control part. The injection control part controls the injection apparatus so as to start the injection in a state where the pair of die halves face each other through a gap. The press-use clamping control part controls the clamping device so that the die contact and clamping are carried out after the start of injection. Further, the injection control part performs control for decelerating the plunger before the plunger stops.
Device, system and method for die-casting metallic material in the thixotropic state
A device for die-casting metal material, including a screw unit for bringing the material into a thixotropic state and a cylinder/piston unit fed by the screw unit for applying pressure to the thixotropic material for the die casting, wherein a thermally controllable valve is arranged between the screw unit and the cylinder/piston unit.
Device and method for measuring the moisture in die casting molds
A device and a method are provided for measuring the moisture in die cast molds, the cavity of which is connected via an evacuation conduit to an evacuation device. The modular assembly of the device is connectable to the evacuation conduit and includes a sensor assembly to measure the moisture of gases evacuated from the mold cavity. The sensor assembly includes an emitter emitting electromagnetic radiation and a detector detecting electromagnetic radiation. On the basis of the measured values obtained during the evacuation action it can be determined whether the amount of a water/release agent mixture jetted into the mold cavity needs to be altered before the actual casting action.
DIE CAST SYSTEM FOR FORMING A COMPONENT USABLE IN A GAS TURBINE ENGINE
A die cast system having an inner liner insert that enables the configuration of a component produced by the system to be easily changed by changing the inner liner insert without having to rework the die housing is disclosed. Because the inner liner insert only need be removed and replaced to change the configuration of an outer surface of a component produced by the system, the cost savings is significant in contrast with conventional systems in which the die would have to be reworked.

Unit Cell Titanium Casting
A system (5) and method (800) for unit cell casting of titanium or titanium-alloys is disclosed herein. The system (5) comprises an external chamber (45), a crucible (10) positioned within the external chamber (45), an induction coil (15) positioned around the crucible, an internal chamber (40) positioned within the external chamber (45), and a mold (30) positioned within the internal chamber (40). The external chamber (45) is evacuated and a pressurized gas is injected into the evacuated external chamber (45) to create a pressurized external chamber (45). An ingot (20) is melted within the crucible utilizing induction heating generated by the induction coil (15). The internal chamber (40) is evacuated to create an evacuated internal chamber (40). The titanium alloy material of the ingot (20) is completely transferred into the mold (30) from the crucible (10) using a pressure differential created between the external chamber (45) and the internal chamber (40).
Housing for a Motor or Compressor
A housing for a motor or compressor has an elongate crankcase with two end surfaces. At least one cylinder chamber is provided in which a piston is caused to perform a movement by rotation of the crankshaft. The internal diameter of the crankcase narrows monotonously from the first end surface to the second end surface. A crankcase shaped in this way can be manufactured particularly easily by virtue of the casting being performed around a shaping mandrel. A shaping mandrel of this type must likewise narrow monotonously in order that, after the casting has been performed around it, the shaping mandrel can be pulled out of the housing at a first end. By way of the shaping of the crankcase, it is possible for the housing to be of unipartite and at the same time very compact construction.
