A modular seating system is provided having one or more seat units that are connectable to each other by connection plates. The seat units include first connector components for connection to back units and/or arm units. The back units and arm units include second connector components configured to cooperate with the first connector components. The arm units are provided with two sets of the second connector components for connecting to the seat unit in a first position or a second position different than the first position. The first and second connector components are in the form of a rail and C-shaped bracket that can slide over the rail.

A furniture spring system includes a lid configured to provide a seating surface. The lid includes a frame having two opposing frame members and a retention member associated with at least one of the two opposing frame members. The furniture spring system further includes a slat extending between the two opposing frame members. The slat includes a plurality of slat portions adjustably coupled to each other, such that a total length of the slat is adjustable.

A modular furniture has a first modular furniture unit. The first modular unit has a first frame. A pair of front legs is attached to the first frame, wherein a first of the pair of front legs supports and holds one of a first adjacent modular furniture unit or a first arm rest and a second of the pair of front legs supports and holds one of a second adjacent modular furniture unit or a first arm rest. A pair of rear legs is coupled to the first frame, wherein a first of the pair of rear legs supports and holds one of the first adjacent modular furniture unit or the first arm rest and a second of the pair of rear legs supports and holds one of the second adjacent modular furniture unit or the second arm rest.

An audio-enhanced furniture system comprises: a furniture assembly; an upholstery fabric at least partially covering the furniture assembly; and a speaker system positioned within the furniture assembly, the speaker system including a speaker covered by the upholstery fabric. The speaker is configured to be tuned to compensate for sound being emitted from the speaker through the upholstery fabric. A method of tuning a speaker to compensate for sound being emitted through upholstery fabric comprises: selecting a baseline equalization, configuring the speaker to emit sound at an actual equalization approximate to the baseline equalization; covering the speaker with an upholstery fabric; measuring a resultant equalization as the speaker emits sound through the upholstery fabric; calculating a differential equalization; and reconfiguring the audio system to emit sound from the speaker through the upholstery fabric according to the baseline equalization by adjusting the actual equalization by the differential equalization.

A knock-down furniture assembly includes (a) a seating assembly having a plurality of first end connectors and a plurality of second end connectors; (b) a first arm having a plurality of first arm connectors, each first arm connector and a corresponding first end connector defining a first pair of interlockable connectors for removably attaching the first arm to the seating assembly; and (c) a second arm including a plurality of second arm connectors, each second arm connector and a corresponding second end connector defining a second pair of interlockable connectors for removably attaching the second arm to the seating assembly. Each pair of interlockable connectors includes (i) a female bracket defining a bracket channel extending along a channel axis oriented generally vertically, and (ii) a male bracket having a slide member slidable into the bracket channel generally along the channel axis for interlocking thereof.

A kit of parts, shippable to an end user in boxes for assembly of the parts by the end user into seating furniture, includes seat bases and seat backs removably attachable to the seat bases; a first armrest with a channel connector having a first channel for slidably receiving a first slide member of a first seat base for securing the first armrest and the first seat base together; and a second armrest with at least a second slide member for slidable insertion into a second channel of another channel connector of a second seat base for securing the second armrest and the second seat base together. Each channel connector secured to the first seat base has a third channel for receiving a third slide member of a slide connector of any other seat base for securing together said other seat base and the first seat base.

The present invention relates to seat systems, and more specifically to seat systems suitable for supporting users sitting in a cross-legged or kneeling position during activities such as meditation. Sitting closer to the ground, cross-legged, and/or kneeling enables the brain to easily enter a parasympathetic mode, providing users of the seat system a greater sense of calmness. The Multi-Angle Knee blocks (MAKs) offer a greater level of hip support for users.

A border bench apparatus providing a seating surface that can be interchangeably replaced with a retaining wall section. The border bench comprises a bench section having a seating surface, a first end to engage a lower engagement projection, a second end adapted to engage an upper engagement projection, and a body. In the preferred embodiment, more than one spike passes through the hoes defined in the bench and the wall sections for stabilization. The border bench can include a weighted base, or a broadened base.

A multifunctional sofa includes armrest assemblies and seat units. A middle armrest is arranged between the adjacent seat units, and a front end of the middle armrest is provided with a cupholder. An upper end surface of the cupholder is provided with a cup slot, and an outer cover is also provided outside the cupholder. The outer cover may rotate relative to the cupholder to allow the one cup slot to be unfolded or folded. A movable function rack capable of rotating outwards relative to the armrest assembly is arranged in each of armrest assemblies. The movable function rack is provided with a function table. In the hidden position, the movable function rack is entirely located in the accommodating groove. In the use position, the movable function rack rotates outwards from the accommodating groove to protrude from the armrest assembly, and the function table is exposed outside.

A modular seat and method of assembling the same are provided. The modular seat includes a first seating component having one or more seating component attachment apertures. The modular seat also includes a first arm component having a first arm component shelf support configured to be received by one of the seating component attachment apertures. The modular seat may include one or more other components, such as attachment members, additional seating components, back support components, and/or additional arm components. A corresponding method of assembling a modular seat is also provided.
