METHOD FOR PRODUCING A COOLING DEVICE

The invention relates to a method for producing a cooling device (10), which has at least one hollow body (30) made of a first material having good thermal conduction and a base body made of a second material having good thermal conduction, and a pre-product for the production of a cooling device (10) and a cooling device (10) for an electrical assembly and an electrical assembly having a cooling device of this kind. The hollow body (30) is coated on the outside with a third material and is filled on the inside with the third material, which has a lower melting temperature than the first material and the second material, wherein the filling (5) completely fills the hollow body and is then cooled, wherein the filled hollow body (30) is placed in a die-casting mould, wherein the second material is introduced into the die-casting mould as die casting with a first temperature and flows around the hollow body (30) at least partially, wherein the die casting melts off the third material of the surface coating (36) and melts on the first material of the hollow body (30) so that at least in regions an integral connection is formed between the die casting of the second material, which forms the base body (20), and the first material of the hollow body (30), wherein the die casting of the second material becomes rigid and solid, wherein during the solidification phase, the die casting of the second material heats the filling (5) made of the third material in the interior of the hollow body (30) until the melting temperature is reached, and wherein the melted third material is removed from the hollow body (30) under pressure.

WEAR RESISTANT MINING FE ALLOY MATRIX AND SPINEL CERAMIC COMPOUND COMPOSITE

A metal matrix composite to high tolerate wear as a property has been produced by infiltration casting of a Fe Alloy and a spinel ceramic by using a material design for i) metal transport phenomena conditions, ii) predefined wetting and capillarity and iii) processing child insert/mother casting methodology to produce a final casting in shape and form to meet the needs of a mining end user.

ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED CHANNELS FOR MOLD DIE CASTINGS

A method for manufacturing a tool having one or more internal channels includes forming one or more channel cores by additive manufacturing, coating a metal onto the one or more channel cores to form a metal tube on each of the one or more channel cores, positioning the one or more metal tubes into a casting mold having a shape of a tool, and casting a molten metal into the casting mold to form the tool having the one or more internal channels corresponding to the one or more channel cores.

COMPOSITE PART WITH EXTERNAL PART CAST AROUND INTERNAL INSERT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

Composite parts (100) and methods of making the same are disclosed. A composite part may include an internal insert component (124) made of a first material. The internal insert component may be provided with surface features such as mechanical surface features or material surface features, on at least a portion of its surface. The composite part may further include an external part component (136) that is cast around at least a portion of the internal insert component, and is made of a second material different from the first material. The surface features of the internal insert component may help establish a bond within the composite part between the internal insert component and the external part component.

METHOD FOR MAKING A BRAKING BAND OF A BRAKE DISC, METHOD FOR MAKING THE BRAKE DISC, BRAKE DISC, AND BRAKING BAND FOR BRAKE DISC
20240125367 · 2024-04-18 ·

A method for making a braking band (2) for a brake disc (1) for a disc brake, comprising the following steps: a) preparing a mold (10) having an inner cavity (11), which comprises a first portion (11a) of a shape corresponding to the braking band (2) to be made; b) preparing a band preform (20) comprising a central layer (200) made of porous ceramic material comprising silicon carbide (SiC), an upper outer layer (201) and a lower outer layer (202), said upper outer layer (201) and said lower outer layer (202) being made of porous ceramic material comprising silicon carbide (SiC) and infiltrated with silicon (SiC+Si), said upper outer layer (201) and said bottom outer layer (202) being arranged in an opposing way and on opposite sides of the central layer (200); c) placing said band preform (20) inside the mold at the first portion (11a) of said inner cavity (11); and d) injecting a liquid or semi-solid aluminum alloy inside the entire inner cavity (11) of the mold (11) so as to infiltrate only the central layer (200) of said band preform (20) made of porous ceramic material with said aluminum alloy, obtaining at the first portion (11a) an aluminum metal matrix composite reinforced by said central preform (200) which defines the braking band (2) to be made. A braking band and a brake disc are made at least with the aforesaid method.

Casting mold, insert for a casting mold, a cast part and a casting method therefor

A metal casting method and a plastic injection molding method in which an insert is molded in molten material such that no molten material enters the interior of the insert. The usage of a wire thread insert as insert has the advantage that for example in an aluminum cast part thread holes can be produced already as part of the casting process. For this purpose, the casting mold, the insert, as well as the casting method are described.
