Ductile alloys for sealing modular component interfaces
A vane assembly (10) having: an airfoil (12) and a shroud (14) held together without metallurgical bonding there between; a channel (22) disposed circumferentially about the airfoil (12), between the airfoil (12) and the shroud (14); and a seal (20) disposed in the channel (22), wherein during operation of a turbine engine having the vane assembly (10) the seal (20) has a sufficient ductility such that a force generated on the seal (20) resulting from relative movement of the airfoil (12) and the shroud (14) is sufficient to plastically deform the seal (20).
Heat-sink base provided with heat-sink fin portions, method for producing same and motor provided with same
A heat-sink base provided with heat-sink fin portions, a manufacturing method and a motor provided with the heat-sink base. The base is produced by pouring cast metal into a mold cavity to replace a pattern having a predetermined sublimation temperature. The base includes a preformed heat-sink member comprising a plurality of heat-sink fin portions and at least one anchor portion embedded at least partially in the pattern, and a base body comprising an enclosed base portion and a holder portion for receiving and holding the at least one anchor portion. By virtue of the invented method, the heat-sink member having an extremely thin thickness can be mounted on the base body and the overall surface area of the heat-sink base is increased considerably.

SLIPS FOR DOWNHOLE SEALING DEVICE AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
A slip for a downhole sealing device includes a plurality of slip segments angularly disposed about a central axis, each slip segment including, a body, and a plurality of engagement members molded or cast at least partially within the body, wherein each of the slip segments are releasably coupled to one another.
Cylinder liner
A cylinder liner for an internal combustion engine may include an outer circumferential surface defined by the cylinder liner composed of a gray cast iron for integrally casting onto a cast material of an engine block. A bonding component may be included for strengthening a bond of the outer circumferential surface to the cast material of the engine block. The bonding component may include at least one of a wire mesh and a wire grid that does not melt during a casting operation of the engine block. The bonding component may be arranged at least in a predefined region on the outer circumferential surface. The bonding component may be welded at least partially to the outer circumferential surface.

SEGMENTED COMPONENT WITH A FIRST SHAPED PART
A segmented component for a housing includes a first shaped part, a first segment having a first cast metal region which is material-bonded to the first shaped part by a first bonding zone. The first shaped part is material-bonded to a second cast metal region of a second segment by a second bonding zone. At least one additional element is material-bonded to the second segment by a third bonding zone and material-bonded to the first segment by a fourth bonding zone, wherein the first shaped part, the first and second segments, and the at least one additional element defining an extension of an interior space of the housing in a cross-sectional plane.

BALL GAME RACKET WITH MAGNESIUM BRIDGE
The invention relates to a frame for a ball game racket comprising a handle region and a head region with a bridge, wherein a part of the head region and/or the handle region comprise(s) a carbon fiber composite material and wherein the bridge comprises magnesium and is formed as one part.
CAST CONTACT PADS
A contact pad is provided having a load-engaging front surface and an oppositely-facing rear surface, preferably comprising a cast metal contact pad having at least one depression adjacent to the rear surface and a tile embedded within the depression such that the tile has an exposed surface, and a wear element on the exposed surface. A method for manufacturing a contact pad having a load-engaging front surface and an oppositely-facing rear surface preferably includes the steps of embedding a mild steel tile within a contact pad casting pattern such that, once embedded, the embedded tile has an exposed weldable surface, casting the contact pad from ductile cast iron and applying a wear element on the weldable surface.
