A posture improvement assembly includes a base that has a top side and a bottom side and is elongated from a first lateral edge to a second lateral edge. A panel has a top edge and a bottom edge wherein the bottom edge is attached to the top side of the base and extends upwardly therefrom. The bottom edge is oriented parallel to a longitudinal axis extending through the first and second lateral edges. The panel lies in a plane orientated perpendicular to a plane of the bottom side of the base. The panel is telescopic and has an adjustable height. A locking member is mechanically coupled to the panel and releasably locks the panel at a selected height. A cushion is attached to and covers the top edge. The base is positioned on a chair to allow a person to place their back against the panel.

A system and method of use for a portable backrest that is collapsible having a frame supported by a base with adjustable backrest portions pivotally attached to the chair whereby when a user's wishes to use the backrest in an inclined position with their supported, they incline the backrest members which will position the user in the most optimal position relative to the sun for sun bathing whereby the user may collapse the backrest and then move it to another location with an attached strap. The backrest may also have other uses such as a table or platform while at the beach.

The apparatus has a retaining member that is retained under a mattress and above the box spring. The retaining member is attached to a vertical member adjacent to the side of the mattress. The vertical member is attached to another seating member that is oriented parallel to the top of the mattress face. The seat member is attached to a back-rest member. The back-rest member is attached to the seating member distal to the side of the mattress. The back-rest member is adjustable, allowing the back rest to be at acute, obtuse or 90-degree angles to the seating member. Further, the apparatus includes supporting members to spread the weight of a seated person.

The semi-ellipsoidal elements also raise the lumbar support assistive device to provide enhanced ventilation so that wearing the lumbar support assistive device would not feel sultry.
