Deposited material structure with integrated component
A method for forming a metallic structure having a secondary component includes positioning the secondary component on a main formation surface of a main tool, the main formation surface corresponding to a desired shape of a first layer of material. The method also includes depositing a layer of material on the secondary component and the main formation surface using a cold-spray technique such that the layer of material bonds to the secondary component. The method also includes removing the layer of material and the secondary component to form the metallic structure.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MICRONEEDLE BIOSENSOR
A microneedle biosensor includes a microneedle and a substrate. One end of the microneedle is connected to the substrate, an outer surface of the microneedle is provided with a working electrode and a first electrode, an outer surface of the working electrode is provided with an enzyme, and an outer surface of the microneedle biosensor is covered with a biocompatible film. A method for manufacturing a microneedle biosensor includes: manufacturing the substrate and the microneedle in an additive mode simultaneously; spray-printing and curing the working electrode and the first electrode on the outer surface of the microneedle; spray-printing and drying the enzyme on the outer surface of the working electrode; and using biocompatible liquid for spray-printing, and drying the biocompatible liquid to form the biocompatible film. The substrate, the microneedle, the working electrode, the first electrode, the enzyme and the biocompatible film are all manufactured through a full printing method.
METHOD FOR MAKING A METAL PART WITH A COMPLEX GEOMETRY WITH A THIN WALL
A metal part with a wall thickness less than 5 mm includes a preform made from a flexible composite sheet, a flexible composite sheet segment, and an appended insert including a fastening portion that is sandwiched between a rear end of the preform and the flexible composite sheet segment. The flexible composite sheet segment encloses the fastening portion of the appended insert.

Method of manufacturing aluminum-based clad heat sink, and aluminum-based clad heat sink manufactured thereby
Disclosed are a method of manufacturing an aluminum-based clad heat sink, and an aluminum-based clad heat sink manufactured by the method. The method includes ball-milling (i) aluminum or aluminum alloy powder and (ii) carbon nanotubes (CNT) to prepare a composite powder, preparing a multi-layered billet using the composite billet, and directly extruding the multi-layered billet using an extrusion die to produce a heat sink. The method has an advantage of producing a light high-strength high-conductivity aluminum-based clad heat sink having an competitive advantage in terms of price by using direct extrusion that is suitable for mass production due to its simplicity in process procedure and equipment required.
Multi-tubular beam for a vehicle
A multi-tubular beam for a vehicle, such as a vehicle structure or a bumper reinforcement, includes an elongated beam formed with a metal sheet. The metal sheet has a central section and outer sections extending along a length of the metal sheet. The outer sections are disposed in opposing directions from the outer edges of the central section to provide adjacent first and second tubular portions. The central section forms a common center wall between the adjacent first and second tubular portions. A first edge portion of the metal sheet is disposed along and in parallel alignment with the center wall. The first edge portion is attached to the center wall at a first weld joint to form the first tubular portion. The first weld joint includes a weld material that extends through a thickness of the center wall and into a thickness of the first edge portion.
