ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED RADIAL TURBINE ROTOR WITH COOLING MANIFOLDS
A turbine rotor includes a base and a plurality of blades. A central nose is radially inward of the blades and defines an axis of rotation. A plurality of cooling manifolds is disposed within the turbine rotor and includes impingement cooling jets extending through a rear surface of the turbine rotor. An internal cooling manifold extends radially inward of the impingement cooling jets and extends between the base and the rear surface of the turbine rotor. A central nose cooling manifold extends into the central nose and is fluidically connected to the internal cooling manifold. A base cooling manifold is fluidically connected to the central nose manifold and extends radially outward from the central nose cooling manifold. A blade cooling manifold is fluidically connected to the base cooling manifold and extends within the blade. Trailing edge jets extend from the blade cooling manifold and through the trailing edge of blades.
ARTICLES HAVING THERMALLY CONTROLLED MICROSTRUCTURE AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF
In an embodiment, an article comprises a plurality of structural units, wherein each structural unit comprises a first portion; a second portion; wherein the second portion contacts the first portion; and a third portion; wherein the third portion is in communication with the first portion and the second portion and is more compressible than the first portion and the second portion; wherein the first portion comprises a first shape memory alloy having a first preset state and wherein the second portion comprises a second shape memory alloy that has a second preset state; wherein the second preset state is different from the first preset state.
Method of unclogging ducts in parts obtained by additive manufacturing
A method of unclogging ducts in a part made by additive manufacturing, the ducts running from at least one well that opens out into the surface of the part, the method comprising the steps of: fabricating a guide with a body that is designed to fit in the well, the guide having internal channels that extend from a base of the guide that is accessible by a user to an outside wall of the body; cleaning the well and inserting the body of the guide in the well so that channels in the guide open out in register with inlets of ducts that are to be unclogged; and inserting a thin flexible tool, e.g. a metal cable, through the base of the guide into at least one channel therein and causing the tool to penetrate into the duct in register in the part so as to unclog it.

Seals and methods of making seals
A tribological and creep resistant system configured to operate at temperatures in excess of 700° C. A seal body extends between a leading edge and a trailing edge. A first component contact surface is adjacent the leading edge and a second component contact surface is adjacent the trailing edge. The seal body is formed from a high entropy alloy.
GAS TURBINE ROTOR COMPONENT AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
A turbine rotor disk and a method of making the turbine rotor disk using solid state bonding techniques are disclosed. The turbine rotor disk includes a radially inner portion comprising a wrought nickel alloy having a yield strength of at least 126 ksi at 1,000° F. The turbine rotor disk also includes a radially outer portion bonded to the radially inner portion, said radially outer portion comprising a cast nickel alloy configured as a single crystal or with a grain size of ASTM 2 or larger.
AUXETIC THREE-DIMENSIONAL STRUCTURE UTILIZED IN ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING APPLICATIONS
An auxetic (NPR) structure includes a plurality of vertical intersecting dimpled sheets, each dimpled sheet exhibiting a negative Poisson's ratio, each dimpled sheet intersects two adjacent dimpled sheets creating a rectangular tubular structure, and having a portion of each dimpled sheet projecting outward from its intersection with an adjacent dimpled sheet, the amplitude of each dimple on the plurality of dimpled sheets is such that no overhanging surface of the dimpled sheet exceeds an angle threshold for printability without support structures.
