INJECTOR FOR A HIGH-PRESSURE TURBINE
The present invention relates to a turbine injector comprising an annular ring extending around a longitudinal axis and having a radially outer edge and a radially inner edge. The crown has a plurality of channels for fluidly connecting the radially outer edge to the radially inner edge, each channel extending in a radial plane of the ring and having an inlet opening near the outer edge and an outlet opening near the radially inner edge, the orientation of each channel varying progressively according to a tangential component between the inlet section of the inlet opening and the outlet section of the outlet opening.
High-performance metal alloy for additive manufacturing of machine components
A high-performance metal alloy is disclosed being suitable for additive manufacturing of machine components, in particular machine components which are subjected to high gas temperature stress. Exemplary machine components are statoric components of gas turbines, such as nozzles.
Turbojet bearing support produced by additive manufacturing
A bearing support designed to be secured to a stationary turbojet element for supporting a journal, including a cone which widens from a central portion for supporting the journal to a portion for securing to the stationary element, a cylindrical body extending the portion for securing to the stationary element while surrounding the cone, an upstream skirt carried by the cone for defining an upstream enclosure for the central portion, and at least one downstream revolution element carried by the cone for defining a downstream enclosure for the central portion. The bearing support can be made as a single part produced by additive manufacturing.
Additive manufacturing based multi-layer fabrication/repair
A method of additively manufacturing includes generating a thermal model driven scan map that identifies an equiaxed cap region, a single crystal (SX) region, and a columnar to equiaxed transition (CET) region; and forming an active melt pool with respect to the thermal model driven scan map such that a depth of the active melt pool is greater than a thickness of the equiaxed transition (CET) region.
TWO-PIECE BAFFLE
An airfoil vane includes an airfoil section which includes an outer wall that defines an internal cavity. A baffle is situated in the internal cavity. The baffle includes a leading edge portion and a trailing edge portion which is bonded to the leading edge portion at a joint. The leading edge portion and the trailing edge portion define an internal cavity therewithin. Both the leading edge portion and the trailing edge portion include a plurality of cooling holes which are configured to provide cooling air to the airfoil outer wall. The trailing edge portion is formed of sheet metal and the leading edge portion is formed of non-sheet-metal. A method of making a baffle for a vane arc segment and a method of assembling a ceramic matrix composite airfoil vane are also disclosed.
Monolithic combustor for attritiable engine applications
A monolithic combustor apparatus comprises an outer casing comprising a forward flange, a fuel manifold disposed on the outer casing and defining an annular chamber extending perimetrically around the outer casing, a combustor liner disposed within the outer casing, the combustor liner defining an annular combustion chamber, a first annular plenum disposed between the outer casing and the combustor liner, an inner liner disposed radially from the combustor liner, a first inner flange extending forward from the combustor liner, and a second inner flange extending radially inward from the first inner flange.
COLD SPRAY DUCT FOR A GAS TURBINE ENGINE
A component for a turbine engine may be formed by spraying particulate with a nozzle toward a substrate. The particulate may be deposited to form one or more annular layers and a reinforcing structure. The component may be a closed loop annular component having a reinforcing structure of specific dimensions enabled by the methods described.
SINTERED BODY, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SINTERED BODY, COMBUSTOR PANEL, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING COMBUSTOR PANEL
By melting a shaping material in which a metal powder and a binder are mixed and by carrying out injection molding (primary shaping) in an injection mold, an injection molded body, or an intermediate shaped body are produced. The injection molded body or the intermediate shaped body is placed by a transfer mold and is subjected to a gravity shaping (secondary shaping) with a transformation. A sintered body is manufactured by carrying out debindering and sintering to the injection molded body.
FUEL FEED PASSAGES FOR AN ATTRITABLE ENGINE
An additively manufactured attritable engine includes a compressor section, a combustion section, a turbine section, and an engine case wall, which surrounds the compressor section, the combustion section, and the turbine section. The engine case wall includes a first cavity embedded in the engine case wall that defines an injector that is in fluid communication with the combustion section. The engine case wall includes a second cavity embedded within the engine case wall and defines a fuel feed passage that is in thermal communication through the exterior surface of the engine case wall.
