A vehicle having an internal combustion engine mounted in the vehicle such that a crankshaft of the internal combustion engine runs in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle is provided with a flexible drive is provided that comprises a wheel, in particular a pulley, which is arranged such as to rotate about a longitudinal axis of the vehicle and which is arranged in front of the internal combustion engine when viewed in the direction of travel of the vehicle. The wheel has at least one weakened section which allows or facilitates a compression of the wheel in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle upon a head-on collision. In addition, the wheel may be arranged to cooperate with a recess in the front of the engine to permit further displacement of the wheel toward the engine during a collision.
Three-dimensional printing
Described herein are compositions, methods, and systems for printing metal three-dimensional objects. In an example, described is a composition for three-dimensional printing comprising: a metal powder build material, wherein the metal powder build material has an average particle size of from about 10 μm to about 250 μm; and a binder fluid comprising: an aqueous liquid vehicle, and latex polymer particles dispersed in the aqueous liquid vehicle, wherein the latex polymer particles have an average particle size of from about 10 nm to about 300 nm.
METHOD FOR PRESSING A GREEN COMPACT
According to a method for pressing a green compact from a sintering powder for producing a gear having a first track and a second track, wherein a first helical toothing with a first helix angle and a first diameter is produced as the first track and a second helical toothing with a second helix angle and a second diameter is produced as the second track, the sintering powder is filled into a mold cavity of a die, and then the sintering powder is pressed to form the green compact with an upper stamp and a lower stamp, and wherein the first and the second helical toothings are produced having the same pitch height.
METHOD FOR PRESSING A GREEN COMPACT
According to a method for pressing a green compact from a sintering powder for producing a gear having a first track and a second track, wherein a first helical toothing with a first helix angle and a first diameter is produced as the first track and a second helical toothing with a second helix angle and a second diameter is produced as the second track, the sintering powder is filled into a mold cavity of a die, and then the sintering powder is pressed to form the green compact with an upper stamp and a lower stamp, and wherein the first and the second helical toothings are produced having the same pitch height.
Conjoined steel and titanium via additive manufacture
A process for additive manufacture of an article including conjoined first and second metals, wherein the first metal includes one of steel and titanium and the second metal includes another of the steel and the titanium. The process comprises arranging an interface layer of a third metal on a substrate of the first metal, wherein the third metal is capable of forming an alloy with the first metal and capable of forming an alloy with the second metal. The process further comprises supplying a consumable form of the second metal to a locus of the interface layer and heating the locus of the interface layer in an non-reactive environment. In this process, the heating fuses the consumable form of the second metal to render a fused form of the second metal and joins the fused form of the second metal to the interface layer.
Conjoined steel and titanium via additive manufacture
A process for additive manufacture of an article including conjoined first and second metals, wherein the first metal includes one of steel and titanium and the second metal includes another of the steel and the titanium. THREE-DIMENSIONAL PRINTING
Described herein are compositions, methods, and systems for printing metal three-dimensional objects. In an example, described is a method of printing a three-dimensional object comprising: (i) depositing a metal powder build material, wherein the metal powder build material has an average particle size of from about 10 μm to about 250 μm; (ii) selectively applying a binder fluid on at least a portion of the metal powder build material, wherein the binder fluid comprises an aqueous liquid vehicle and latex polymer particles dispersed in the aqueous liquid vehicle; (iii) heating the selectively applied binder fluid on the metal powder build material to a temperature of from about 40° C. to about 180° C.; and (iv) repeating (i), (ii), and (iii) at least one time to form the three-dimensional object.
Methods for Fabricating Strain Wave Gear Flexsplines Using Metal Additive Manufacturing
Methods for the fabrication of metal strain wave gear flexsplines using a specialized metal additive manufacturing technique are provided. The method allows the entire flexspline to be metal printed, including all the components: the output surface with mating features, the thin wall of the cup, and the teeth integral to the flexspline. The flexspline may be used directly upon removal from the building tray.
