Three-dimensional printing

An example of a multi-fluid kit for three-dimensional printing includes a binder fluid and an adhesion promoter fluid. The binder fluid includes water and polymer particles in an amount ranging from about 1 wt % to about 40 wt % based on the total weight of the binder fluid. The adhesion promoter fluid includes water and an aromatic dihydrazide adhesion promoter in an amount ranging from about 0.1 wt % to about 10 wt % based on a total weight of the adhesion promoter fluid.

The device comprises a first heat treatment chamber, a first cooling chamber, a second heat treatment chamber, and a second cooling chamber continuously disposed in sequence, as well as a transfer system disposed among the chambers to transfer the alloy workpiece or the metal workpiece; both the first cooling chamber and the second cooling chamber adopt a air cooling system, wherein a cooling air temperature of the first cooling chamber is 25° C. or above and differs from a heat treatment temperature of the first heat treatment chamber by at least 450° C.; a cooling air temperature of the second cooling chamber is 25° C. or above and differs from a heat treatment temperature of the second heat treatment chamber by at least 300° C. The continuous heat treatment device and method can improve the cooling rate and production efficiency and improve the properties and consistency of the products.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL PRINTING

The present disclosure relates to a method of three-dimensional (3D) printing a 3D printed object. The method comprises: selectively jetting a marking agent onto a first region of build material, wherein the build material comprises at least one meta and/or ceramic; selectively jetting a binding agent onto at least a portion of the build material; and binding the build material to form a layer; such that the marking agent is incorporated in the metal part in a predetermined arrangement that forms a detectable marker in the 3D printed object. The disclosure also relates to a multi-fluid inkjet kit for 3D printing.

Three-dimensional printing

An example of a method, for three-dimensional (3D) printing, includes applying a build material and patterning at least a portion of the build material. The patterning includes selectively applying a wetting amount of a binder fluid on the at least the portion of the build material and subsequently selectively applying a remaining amount of the binder fluid on the at least the portion of the build material. An area density in grams per meter square meter (gsm) of the wetting amount ranges from about 2 times less to about 30 times less than area density in gsm of the remaining amount.

Oxide dispersion-strengthened iron-based alloy powder and characterization method thereof

An oxide dispersion-strengthened (ODS) iron-based alloy powder and a characterization method thereof are provided. The alloy powder comprises a matrix and strengthening phases. The strengthening phases include at least two types of strengthening phase particles with different sizes, wherein a volume of the particles with a particle size of less than or equal to 50 nm accounts for 85-95% of a total volume of all the strengthening phase particles. The matrix is a Fe—Cr—W—Ti alloy. The characterization method of the ODS iron-based alloy powder comprises separating the strengthening phases from the powder matrix through electrolysis, and analyzing and characterizing the strengthening phases using an electron microscope.

Method for fabricating components using hybrid additive manufacturing and consolidation process

A method of fabricating a near net shape component includes forming a sacrificial shell from a pulverant material using an additive manufacturing process, the shell having an aperture. The method further includes filling the shell with a second pulverant material, subjecting the filled shell to a consolidation process, and removing the shell from the consolidated second pulverant material.

A de-powdering basket comprises an enclosure of at least one side wall and a bottom wall. The enclosure is configured such that, when the enclosure is disposed within a build box, the outer surfaces of the at least one side wall are substantially adjacent to the interior walls of the build box. The enclosure further comprises one or more apertures disposed within the at least one side wall, each of the apertures comprising a void that extends through the at least one side wall from an interior surface of the side wall to an exterior surface of the side wall. The enclosure may be configured to accommodate a build plate situated within the enclosure. Outer edges of the build plate may cooperate with inner surfaces of the side walls of the enclosure to prevent loose powder from passing between the outer edges of the build plate and the side walls.
