SELF-LOCKING HINGE MECHANISM
20170064906 · 2017-03-09 ·

A self-locking hinge for agricultural machine panels includes a receptacle configured to slidingly receive an insert along a receiving axis. A hinge with fixed and movable portions and pivot axis transverse to the receiving axis is connected to the insert. A locking retainer is connected to the movable portion and engages an opening in the receptacle as the movable portion is moved toward a first position corresponding with panel closure. Engagement of the locking retainer in the opening precludes movement of the insert portion along the receiving axis. Moving the hinge in an opposite direction disengages the locking retainer from the opening and permits sliding movement of the insert. The locking retainer further includes an arcuate surface configured to engage an edge of the opening which may further be eccentrically arranged about the hinge axis to enable the locking retainer to move the insert into a desired position as the hinge is moved toward the first position.

Grain Bin Hazard Shield
20170058507 · 2017-03-02 ·

A grain bin hazard shield apparatus is disclosed in the present invention comprising of outer ring, inner ring and a net wherein the outer ring and inner ring further comprising of first half ring; second half ring; fist locking hinge; second locking hinge; first set of clip connector; first set of clips; second set of clip connectors and second set of clips. The outer ring and inner ring aligned concentrically in a plane where the diameter of the outer ring is substantially larger than the diameter of the inner ring. The outer ring is connected to the outer edge of the inner ring via the net, which spans the circular area of space located between the outer edge of the inner ring and the inner edge of the outer ring. In one of the embodiment, the hazard bin shield may be provided with an electric pulley system in order to suspend the grain bin hazard shield from the roof of the grain bin. In another preferred embodiment, the grain bin shield may be power washed inside the bin or on outside the bin in order to remove the mold or chemicals.

Operator protection apparatus with an over-center linkage

Aspects hereof relate to an operator protection apparatus having at least one over-center linkage. In some aspects, an operator protection apparatus can be raised and lowered by an operator from a seated position, for example, on a terrain working vehicle. Additionally, the at least one over-center linkage may automatically lock in the operator protection apparatus in a raised position. Accordingly, a mechanical force is then required to overcome the lock, and allow the operator protection apparatus to return to a lowered position.

Method and Assembly for Displacing Animals in Vegetation Subject to Mowing or Cutting
20170006772 · 2017-01-12 ·

A bee displacement assembly provided as a mowing machine with a direct drive operated fan housed inside a housing formed with a funnel leading from an interior space of the housing and terminating in a mouth. The funnel tapers both horizontally and vertically to the mouth such that the mouth approximates a narrow, widened slot. Powering the motor turns the drive shaft that in turn operates the fan, creating a concentrated stream of air inside the fan housing that is channelized in the funnel and emitted out the mouth at an area of uncut vegetation immediately prior to cutting by a cutting deck of the mowing machine.

20170006778 · 2017-01-12 ·

A method for displacing bees from vegetation subject to cutting by a mowing machine having a cutting deck and using a blower assembly affixed to the mowing machine. The assembly is provided as a fan or motorized blower affixed to a funnel. In operation, the fan or motorized blower creates then forces a concentrated air stream into the funnel that then directs the concentrated air stream to an area of vegetation immediately in front of the cutting deck, displacing bees in the area of vegetation prior to cutting. A funnel mouth is oriented so that the emitted air stream is at least as wide as the cutting deck, and multiple blower assemblies or larger funnel attachments may be used to accommodate larger cutting decks. The method includes selective actuation of the blower while operating the mowing machine.
