CLADDED ARTICLES AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
In one aspect, composite articles are described herein employing cobalt-based alloy claddings exhibiting high hardness and wear resistance while maintaining desirable integrity and adhesion to surfaces of metallic substrates. A composite article, in some embodiments, comprises a metallic substrate and a composite cladding metallurgically bonded to one or more surfaces of the metallic substrate, the composite cladding including cobalt-based alloy having a chromium gradient, wherein chromium content increases in a direction from the composite cladding surface to an interface of the composite cladding with the metallic substrate.
INK FOR SCREEN PRINTING
Provided is an ink for use in electronic component production making use of screen printing, which is suitable for actually allowing fine lines with high precision to be drawn in screen printing, and for actually allowing successive screen printing operations to be performed. The ink for screen printing of the present invention includes surface-modified silver nanoparticles (A) and a solvent (B), and has a viscosity at a shear rate of 10 (1/s) and 25° C. of 60 Pa.Math.s or more. The surface-modified silver nanoparticles (A) each include a silver nanoparticle and an amine-containing protective agent coating the silver nanoparticle. The solvent (B) includes at least a terpene solvent. In solvent (B), a content of solvents having a boiling point of less than 130° C. is 20 wt % or less based on the total amount of solvents.
BIOCIDAL COMPOSITIONS OF COPPER AND SILVER AND PROCESS FOR ADHERING TO PRODUCT SUBSTRATES
Biocidal metallic compositions and films, and methods for making and adhering biocidal compositions and films to surfaces requiring continued protection without requiring frequent cleaning are disclosed. The biocidal compositions may include metals, such as copper or silver powder, which are applied to the exposed surface of a variety of different resins, glues, epoxies, solvents or other surface treatments to create a biocidal film over the surface of product substrates including metals, leathers, papers, plastics, cardstocks, and glass surfaces.
OXIDE-CONTAINING COPPER FINE PARTICLES, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SINTERED COMPACT USING OXIDE-CONTAINING COPPER FINE PARTICLES
Disclosed is oxide-containing copper fine particles including Cu.sub.64O and optionally Cu.sub.2O and coated with a carboxylic acid, wherein a mass ratio of Cu.sub.64O to a total mass of Cu, Cu.sub.64O and Cu.sub.2O is 0.5 to 2.0% by mass.
SILVER POWDER
A silver powder includes a large number of particles. The particles include polyhedral particles 2. The ratio P1 of the number of the polyhedral particles 2 to the total number of the particles is equal to or greater than 80%. Each polyhedral particle 2 has a body containing silver as a main component, and a coating layer covering a surface of the body and containing organic matter as a main component. Each polyhedral particle 2 has an aspect ratio of equal to or less than 3.0. The content P2 of the organic matter in the silver powder is preferably equal to or less than 0.5% by weight. The silver powder preferably has a median diameter D50 of equal to or less than 0.5 μm. The silver powder preferably has a tap density TD of equal to or greater than 5.0 g/cm.sup.3.
METAL DROP EJECTING THREE-DIMENSIONAL (3D) OBJECT PRINTER AND METHOD OF OPERATION FOR FACILITATING BUILD AND RELEASE OF A METAL OBJECT FROM A BUILD PLATFORM
A three-dimensional (3D) metal object manufacturing apparatus is equipped with a liquid silicate application system to apply liquid silicate to a surface of a build platform prior to manufacture of a metal object. The liquid silicate layer is permitted to air dry and then the platform is heated to its operational temperature range for formation of a metal object with melted metal drops ejected by the apparatus. The liquid silicate layer forms a glassy, brittle layer on which the metal object is formed. This brittle layer is removed relatively easily with the object after the object is manufactured and the build platform is permitted to cool. The silicate layer improves the wetting of the surfaces of build platforms made with non-wetting materials, such as oxidized steel, while also preventing metal-to-metal welds with wetting materials, such as tungsten or nickel.
Extrudable Mixture for use in 3d Printing Systems to Produce Metal, Glass and Ceramic Articles of high purity and detail.
There is disclosed an article which is formed of a solid-phase or liquid-phase sintered product of a metal powder, ceramic powder or glass powder. For manufacturing the article, an extrudable mixture which contains the material powder and a thermoplastic binder is shaped into a continuous filament suitable for use in fused filament 3D printers. The printed object is then invested in plaster or other castable refractory. The invested object is then subjected to heating. The heating process burns off the thermoplastic binder and sinters the powders of metal, glass or ceramic, leaving a pure metal, glass or ceramic object.
The extrudable mixture is produced by preparing a material powder, preparing thermoplastic binder, blending the material powder and the thermoplastic binder together. The most preferable extrudable mixture contains 80 to 92% by weight of metal powder, 8 to 20% by weight of thermoplastic binder, and 0.0 to 0.1% unavoidable impurities. The extrudable mixture is then extruded into a continuous filament suitable for use in various 3d printing hardware.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A THERMOELECTRIC MATERIAL
A method for producing a thermoelectric material, comprising: mixing an Sn powder and a powder containing a first dopant element to obtain a first mixed raw material, heating the first mixed raw material at a temperature allowing for mutual diffusion of Sn and the first dopant element to obtain a first aggregate, pulverizing the first aggregate to obtain a first powder, mixing an Mg powder, an Si powder, and the first powder to obtain a second mixed raw material, heating the second mixed raw material at a temperature allowing for mutual diffusion of Mg, Si, Sn and the first dopant element to obtain a second aggregate, pulverizing the second aggregate to obtain a second powder, and pressure-sintering the second powder, and wherein the first dopant element is one or more elements selected from Al, Ag, As, Bi, Cu, Sb, Zn, P, and B.
Nanometal-flake-graphite composite and method of manufaturing the same
The present invention relates to a nanometal-flake graphite composite and a method of manufacturing the same, and more particularly, to a nanometal-flake graphite composite, in which nanometal-flake graphite, in which crystallized nanometal particles are highly densely bonded to the surface of flake graphite, is coated with polydopamine to form a polydopamine coating layer which significantly improves properties such as bonding properties between flake graphite basal planes, adhesiveness with other media, and dispersibility, and a method of manufacturing the nanometal-flake graphite composite.
High-density thermodynamically stable nanostructured copper-based bulk metallic systems, and methods of making the same
High-density thermodynamically stable nanostructured copper-based metallic systems, and methods of making, are presented herein. A ternary high-density thermodynamically stable nanostructured copper-based metallic system includes: a solvent of copper (Cu) metal; that comprises 50 to 95 atomic percent (at. %) of the metallic system; a first solute metal dispersed in the solvent that comprises 0.01 to 50 at. % of the metallic system; and a second solute metal dispersed in the solvent that comprises 0.01 to 50 at. % of the metallic system. The internal grain size of the solvent is suppressed to no more than 250 nm at 98% of the melting point temperature of the solvent and the solute metals remain uniformly dispersed in the solvent at that temperature. Processes for forming these metallic systems include: subjecting powder metals to a high-energy milling process, and consolidating the resultant powder metal subjected to the milling to form a bulk material.
