Vibrating Bed for Alerting Quiescent and Sleeping Individuals
The present invention relates to a system, method and a novel vibrating bed to alert and wake up sleeping and quiescent individuals when a fire occurs. The vibrating bed includes a vibrating mechanism that includes a vibrating motor to shake and vibrate rubber tubes to shake the bed to alert and wake up individuals when smoke or fire is detected by a smoke/fire detector. The smoke/fire detector is wirelessly coupled to the vibrating bed through a wireless communication channel and a processor of the bed receives an alert signal to actuate the vibrating motor from the detector when the smoke/fire detector detects fire or smoke.
PORTABLE AND ADJUSTABLE BED HAVING MULTIPLE BED SECTIONS WITH INDEPENDENT CONTROL
An adjustable bed includes a frame structure having a first frame, a second frame, and a pair of connection bars detachably connecting the first frame and the second frame to one another; a plurality of platforms having two or more back platforms disposed on the first frame and two or more lower limb platforms disposed on the second frame; and an adjustable assembly comprising two or more back lifting assemblies coupled with the first frame and two or more leg lifting assemblies coupled with the second frame for individually adjusting each of the two or more back platforms and the two or more lower limb platforms in desired positions.
Rotary plate valve having seal anti-herniation structure
A mattress overlay apparatus is provided for use with a mattress. The mattress overlay apparatus includes an overlay configured for placement atop the mattress and having a plurality of inflatable bladders, a blower, and first and second rotary plate valves pneumatically coupled to the plurality of bladders and the blower. The first and second rotary plate valves are arranged in series between the plurality of bladders and the blower. The first and second rotary plate valves and the blower are operated to provide the overlay with percussion and vibration (P&V), left and right turn assist, and microclimate management (MCM) functionality.
Moving bed
A moving bed has a fixed bed part as a resting area for the head and upper body of a person, and a longitudinally moving bed part as a resting area for the buttocks and legs of a person. The bed has a first bed frame in the form of a stationary fixed frame that extends as a stationary longitudinal frame over the entire length of the bed and on which the upper, fixed bed part is formed. The bed has a second bed frame as a moving frame, which forms the lower longitudinally moving bed part; the moving frame is held to the fixed frame so that it can move longitudinally. A motor drive is mounted between the fixed frame and the moving frame, and by this motor drive, the moving frame may be moved alternatingly back and forth relative to the fixed frame in a predetermined longitudinal section.
ADJUSTABLE FOUNDATION
An adjustable foundation and process includes a mattress support surface including a head and back section hingedly connected to an intermediate section at one end and a leg and foot section hingedly connected to the intermediate section at another end, wherein the intermediate section includes a first portion and a second portion, wherein the first portion is hingedly connected to the head and back section and the second portion is hingedly connected to the leg and foot section. The intermediate or seat section is configured to increase in length upon articulation of the head and back section and/or the leg and foot section from a flat position or an increase in inclination of any section. Likewise, the intermediate or seat section is configured to decrease in length upon articulation of the head and back section and/or the leg and foot section from an inclined position to a flat position or a decrease in length upon declination of any section. By doing so, a prone user does not have to shift his position on the mattress in order to accommodate the inclination or declination.
Dynamic furniture featuring pendulum-like motion
A dynamic furniture system includes a first frame portion; a set of rollers mounted to the first frame portion; a second frame portion including one or more rockers having a roller-interface surface having a curved profile; wherein the set of rollers interface with the roller-interface surface of the rockers such that the second frame portion is moveable relative to the first frame portion; a set of one or more electromagnets mounted to or integrated with the first frame portion or the second frame portion; a set of one or more magnetically-interactive elements mounted to or integrated with a different one of the first frame portion or the second frame portion; and an electronic control system configured to vary a parameter of electrical energy supplied to the set of electromagnets over time to induce back and forth motion of one of the first frame portion or the second frame portion.
BED BASE AND BED PROVIDED WITH SAID BED BASE, WHEREIN THE BED BASE IS PROVIDED WITH MASSAGING MEANS
Bed base and bed provided with the bed base, wherein the bed base is provided with massaging apparatuses having slats which are placed one after the other and which define a support plane for a mattress, wherein the massaging apparatuses include a first drive which activates a first series of slats for a massaging action and a second drive which activates a second series of slats for a massaging action.
Massage motor support apparatus for an adjustable bed
A massage motor support incorporates a frame having an upper frame element and a lower frame element. A support membrane having a central aperture in a web with a securing plate and massage motor engaged through the central aperture is supported in the frame with the web engaged between clamping surfaces on the upper and lower frame elements.
AN APPARATUS FOR REDUCING THE RISK OF DEVELOPING DECUBITUS ULCERS AND ADJUNCT TO TREATMENT THEREOF ON IMMOBILE PATIENTS
The present invention relates to an apparatus for reducing the risk of developing decubitus ulcers on bedfast or immobile patients and adjunct to the treatment thereof. Said apparatus comprising a bed frame, a plurality of spaced apart pusher assemblies transversely disposed on said bed frame, each said pusher assemblies being defined by a hollow shaft being rotatably secured to said bed frame, a worm and hollow gear combination provided on said hollow shaft, a plurality of slits spacedly provided on said hollow shaft, an internal screw shaft rotatably disposed within said hollow shaft with one end extending outwardly through said hollow gear, said internal screw shaft being provided with secondary worm and gear combination, a plurality of spaced apart internally threaded bushings screwably held along said internal screw shaft, a protruding member projecting outwardly from each internally threaded bushing and through corresponding slit of said hollow shaft, and a pusher member securedly held on each of said protruding member.
The intermediate or seat section is configured to increase in length upon articulation of the head and back section 18 and/or the leg and foot section 22 from a flat position or an increase in inclination of any section. Likewise, the intermediate or seat section 20 is configured to decrease in length upon articulation of the head and back section 18 and/or the leg and foot section 22 from an inclined position to a flat position or a decrease in length upon declination of any section.
