LIGHTED GUARD FOR TOOL REST
A lathe or other rotating machine includes a tool rest on a carriage that is movable along the work piece. The carriage includes a post that is movable with the tool rest. The post supports a guard that is disposed between the user and the work piece. The guard may include a frame surrounding a transparent portion. The frame may support a plurality of light emitting elements directed onto the work piece. An extendable/retractable transparent portion may be extended from the guard between the user and the work piece. The extendable/retractable portion and/or the transparent portion may be a magnifier.

MACHINE TOOL
The invention provides a machine tool eliminating the need of keeping the removed feed-mechanism-protection cover outside the machine. The machine tool comprises a headstock provided with a main spindle for gripping a workpiece; a driving unit provided with a feed mechanism extended along a main spindle axis to move the headstock in a main spindle axial direction; a supporting bed provided with a guide bush in a removable manner; a first cover mounted on the headstock to protect a portion of the feed mechanism with respect to the main spindle axial direction; and a second cover removably mounted on the headstock on the front side of the first cover to protect another portion of the feed mechanism. The second cover is detachably attached to the first cover when removed from the headstock.

Chuck guard for lathe
A lathe or other rotating machine includes a chuck for holding a work piece or tool. The chuck is operated between grasping and releasing positions. A chuck guard is mounted on a housing of the rotating machine. The chuck guard has a transparent window and is mounted for pivoting movement between a position covering the chuck and a position exposing the chuck. A chuck guard extension with a window is attached at a front lower end of the chuck guard.

Machine tool
A work-machine splash guard for enclosing a space for machining a workpiece, and preventing the spraying of chips and machining fluid, is equipped with: a front-surface door for opening and closing in the horizontal direction via an arc-shaped movement, and positioned on the front-surface side of the work machine; a side-surface door for opening and closing by performing an arc-shaped movement that is concentric with the front-surface door, and overlapping with the front-surface door; and door-locking switches for selectively allowing the opening/closing of the front-surface door and the side-surface door according to an opening/closing pattern.
Jaw exchanger and machine tool
A jaw exchanger includes a stocker configured to store jaws which are configured to be attached to a chuck body of a machine tool, a stocker movement mechanism configured to move the stocker between a first position and a second position, and a jaw transferor configured to transfer the jaws to the stocker positioned at the first position from a jaw receiver to receive the jaws, and configured to transfer the jaws to the chuck body from the stocker positioned at the second position. The chuck body is rotatable about a rotation axis.

Processing machine and slide mechanism
A processing machine comprises: a cover that is provided with an opening and defines a processing area; a first door that is slidable between a first position in which the opening is opened and a second position in which the opening is closed; a second door that is disposed to overlap with the first door inside the processing area and slidable between the first position and a third position that is opposite to the first position with respect to the second position and in which the second door cooperates with the first door to close the opening; and a rail member that includes a grooved portion and an abutment that engage with the first door and is provided at the second door to allow the second door to slide with respect to the first door. The grooved portion and the abutment are disposed outside the processing area.
