DEVICE FOR SECURING A BORING BAR
A fixing device for fixing a boring bar on a material-removing machine includes a reducing sleeve with a hollow profile arranged on a front face which faces away from a machine chuck. The boring bar is received in the interior of the hollow profile. An end region of the boring bar projects from the hollow profile and carries a cutting tool. The hollow profile has a wall arranged between a hallow profile interior and a hollow profile outer wall. The wall has a lateral region where the cutting tool projects from the boring bar, a first thickness in the lateral region, and a second thickness outside the lateral region. The first thickness is less than the second thickness. A longitudinal axis of the hollow profile is parallel to and at a distance from the axis of the reducing sleeve which is coaxial with the interior of the boring bar.
AERONAUTICAL COMPONENT MACHINING
An apparatus and corresponding method for machining at least one spline in an aeronautical component. The apparatus comprises a holder defining an axial direction about which the holder is moveable, and a cutting insert attachable to the holder. The apparatus further comprises a coupling for attaching the cutting insert to the holder about a second direction that is perpendicular to the axial direction of the holder. The holder may comprise a first alignment feature for orientating the cutting insert at a single orientation with respect to the holder. The cutting insert may comprise at least one cutting tooth, wherein each cutting tooth comprises a cutting edge. The cutting insert may comprise a first datum surface which is spaced from each cutting edge by a respective predetermined spacing.
BORING BAR ARRANGEMENT
A boring-bar arrangement includes a boring bar, a securing device, and a clamping bolt. The securing device has a reduction sleeve, which is secured in a tool chuck, which has a front end that faces away from the tool chuck and a protruding hollow section which receives the boring bar. The hollow section has a hollow-section interior, a hollow-section outer wall, and a hollow-section wall which is arranged therebetween. The hollow-section wall has a first thickness in a side region where the cutting tool protrudes from the boring bar which is less than a second thickness in a rest of the hollow-section wall. The boring bar is releasably secured as a replaceable head, via its back end, at a front end of the protruding hollow section. A front end of the clamping bolt has a male thread which sits in the female thread of the boring bar.
MODULAR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURED TOOL ASSEMBLY
A modular additive manufactured tool assembly includes a perishable tool and a tool holder coupled to the perishable tool. The tool assembly is configured to be coupled to a machine spindle. The tool assembly also includes a spindle connection coupled to the tool holder. The spindle connection is configured to be coupled to a machine spindle. Each of the tool holder and the perishable tool includes a perishable material. Each of the tool holder and the perishable tool is manufactured using an additive manufacturing process.

Toolholder assembly with flexible canister
A toolholder assembly includes a toolholder having a rearwardly facing toolholder shank, a base member having a bore configured for receiving the toolholder shank, a lock rod with an axial forward and an axial rearward end, at least one locking member in communication with the axial forward end of the lock rod, and a flexible canister configured for receipt in the bore of the base member. The flexible canister includes at least one flexible feature that reduces a stiffness (i.e., increases flexibility) of the flexible canister. In one aspect, the flexible feature is a slot proximate a locking passageway of the canister.
Adjustable Angle Toolholder
An adjustable angle toolholder comprising a shank and an adjustable head is provided. The shank has a first end and a second end. The first end is adapted to be held in a machine, such as a lathe. The second end includes a fixed plane oriented parallel to a lengthwise direction of the shank. The fixed plane includes an arcuate face at a distal end of the fixed plane. The head has a fixed plane that mates with the fixed plane of the shank. The fixed planes of the shank and head include a pivot hole through which a pivot bolt passes. The pivot bolt allows adjustment of the head through a wide range of angles relative to a lengthwise direction of the shank, while the fixed planes maintain a position of a centerline of a cutting tool constant with respect to a centerline of the shank. The fixed plane of the shank may be on a centerline of the shank.
Tool or workpiece holder
A tool or workpiece holder with a receiving body and a clamping device for clamping a tool or a workpiece in a receiving opening of the receiving body. The clamping device comprises a first clamping element, which can be moved in a receiving portion of the receiving body at right angles to a central axis of the receiving opening, and a second clamping element, which can be moved relative to the first clamping element at right angles to the central axis of the receiving opening by means of an actuating element. The second clamping element has conical bottom clamping surfaces on the two clamping elements for inserting the tool or workpiece into the receiving opening. An ejecting mechanism is disposed on the first clamping element for ejecting the tool or workpiece from the receiving opening when the clamping elements are moved into a disengaged position.
Tool or workpiece holder

TOOL COUPLING
A tool coupling extends along a longitudinal axis and has a first component, a second component, and a clamp for fastening the first component to the second component. The first component has a male clamping portion, the second component has a female clamping portion, and the clamp is located in an inner cavity of the second component. The male clamping portion has a first abutment region located axially rearward of a first plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, the inner cavity has a second abutment region located axially forward of the first plane, and the first and second abutment regions face towards the first plane. In a fastened state, a clamp first engagement region of the clamp makes clamping contact with the male clamping portion's first abutment region, and a clamp second engagement region of the clamp makes clamping contact with the inner cavity's second abutment region.
