Cutting Member, Holding Device and Cutting Tool with Arrangement for Indicating Rotational Alignment Between Cutting Member and Holding Device
A cutting tool includes a cutting member having a shank portion located in a clamping recess of a clamping sleeve adaptor of a holding device. The shank portion has a peripheral shank surface including a switching arrangement including two circumferentially spaced apart circumferential outer portions and a circumferential inner portion extending therebetween. The circumferential inner portion has opposite electrical conductivity to the two circumferential outer portions. The holding device has an alignment indicating unit including an electric switch including two spaced apart conductive switch members configured to be in electrically conductive communication or non-communication with each other thereby closing or opening the electric switch, so that an electric circuit established or broken, forming first and second states of the cutting tool, respectively. Switching between the first and second states is realized by rotation of the cutting member with respect to the clamping sleeve adaptor.
METHOD FOR TURNING A WORKPIECE WITH A TOOL SYSTEM
A tool system for machining includes a tool body that has a first end for connecting to a machine tool and a second end having an end face on which a seat for an interchangeable cutting insert is formed. The cutting insert has an underside formed as an abutment surface, a top side formed as a rake face, and an encircling side face formed as a flank, and a cutting edge is formed at a transition from the top side to the encircling side face. The cutting insert is arranged on the seat such that the top side extends perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the tool body and the cutting edge protrudes beyond the outer circumference of the end face of the tool body in a radial direction with respect to the longitudinal axis with two usable cutting corners and cutting-corner portions adjoining the latter on both sides.

CLAMPING DEVICE FOR TOOL HOLDER
A clamping device is arranged for releasably holding a tool holder shank. The clamping device includes a housing, a drawbar mounted reciprocally movable inside a bore in the housing, and an actuator. An aperture extends along an actuator axis and is delimited by an aperture housing surface and a drawbar groove. A first locking pressure applying surface on the actuator acts upon a first locking pressure receiving surface in the drawbar groove to effectuate a displacement of the drawbar when the actuator is moved along the actuator axis in a first direction, resulting in clamping of the tool holder shank.
BORING TOOL HOLDER AND TURNING TOOL
A boring tool holder has a base member and a cutting insert holding member. The base member has a first main surface and a second main surface opposite to the first main surface. The cutting insert holding member is contiguous to the base member on the first main surface, and disposed in a circumferential direction of the base member as viewed in a direction from the first main surface toward the second main surface. A cross-sectional area of the base member in a cross section perpendicular to the direction from the first main surface toward the second main surface and intersecting the base member is larger than a cross-sectional area of the cutting insert holding member in a cross section perpendicular to the direction from the first main surface toward the second main surface and intersecting the cutting insert holding member.
Tool adaptor having an insert receiving pocket and a fastening bore, and cutting tool assembly
A tool adaptor has a front retaining portion and a rear mounting portion, the front retaining portion having a base jaw, a clamping jaw, and an insert receiving pocket located therebetween, and the rear mounting portion having a rear mounting surface and a first fastening bore. A primary slot separates the base jaw from the clamping jaw and communicates with the insert receiving pocket, and a secondary slot transverse to the primary slot separates the clamping jaw from the rear mounting portion. The first fastening bore has a first bore axis which intersects the rear mounting surface and the secondary slot. A cutting tool assembly includes a tool shank, and the tool adaptor secured to a front mounting portion of the tool shank by means of a first fastening screw occupying the first fastening bore and a first shank bore of the front mounting portion.
Device for securing a boring bar
A fixing device for fixing a boring bar on a material-removing machine includes a reducing sleeve with a hollow profile arranged on a front face which faces away from a machine chuck. The boring bar is received in an interior of the hollow profile. An end region of the boring bar projects from the hollow profile and carries a cutting tool. The hollow profile has a wall arranged between the interior and an exterior of the hollow profile. The wall has a first thickness and a second thickness. The first thickness is less than the second thickness. The first thickness is established at a side of the fixing device where the cutting tool projects radially from the boring bar. A longitudinal axis of the hollow profile is parallel to and at a distance from the axis of the reducing sleeve which is coaxial with the interior of the boring bar.
INSERT HOLDER HAVING INSERT RECEIVING RECESS WITH INSERT ORIENTATION PROJECTION AND CUTTING TOOL
A cutting tool includes a cutting insert resiliently clamped in an insert holder. The insert holder includes a forwardly located insert mounting portion that includes an insert receiving recess which extends along a recess axis. The insert holder includes a fastening member through hole opening out to the insert receiving recess. The insert receiving recess includes an insert orientation projection. The fastening member through hole has a through hole angular extent about the recess axis. The insert orientation projection has an insert orientation projection angular extent about the recess axis. The insert orientation projection angular extent at least partially angularly overlaps the through hole angular extent about the recess axis.
TOOL HOLDER AND TOOL SYSTEM
Tool holder comprising a tool receptacle, a machine interface, and a sensor receptacle. The tool receptacle is configured to releasably receive a tool having at least one cutting edge for machining a workpiece. The machine interface is configured to enable the tool holder to be fastened to a machine tool. In the sensor receptacle, a sensor is arranged that is configured to generate a measurement signal that is dependent on a force acting on the tool holder The sensor receptacle is spaced apart from both the tool receptacle and the machine interface, so that the sensor is neither in direct contact with the tool nor in direct contact with the machine tool when the tool is accommodated in the tool receptacle and the tool holder is fastened to the machine tool.
TOOL OR WORKPIECE HOLDER
A tool or workpiece holder with a receiving body and a clamping device for clamping a tool or a workpiece in a receiving opening of the receiving body. The clamping device comprises a first clamping element, which can be moved in a receiving portion of the receiving body at right angles to a central axis of the receiving opening, and a second clamping element, which can be moved relative to the first clamping element at right angles to the central axis of the receiving opening by means of an actuating element. The second clamping element has conical bottom clamping surfaces on the two clamping elements for inserting the tool or workpiece into the receiving opening. An ejecting mechanism is disposed on the first clamping element for ejecting the tool or workpiece from the receiving opening when the clamping elements are moved into a disengaged position.
