Mattress
A foam mattress in which a layer of latex or latex-like foam placed above a layer of memory foam is described. This construction of the mattress provides the contouring pressure relief that a visco-elastic foam provides with a top surface with quick recovery (a latex-like “bounce”) that prevents people from getting “stuck” in the visco-elastic foam and improves the springiness of the mattress. The mattress may also include straps and cinches to aid in transportation of the mattress. The mattress may also include removable covers that aid in keeping the mattress clean.
Active comfort controlled bedding systems
Active comfort controlled bedding systems include a variable firmness control and/or variable climate control. The active comfort controlled bedding systems generally include a plurality of air bladders, each one of the plurality of air bladders includes a pressure sensor configured to measure pressure within a respective air bladder. A control unit configured to selectively operate a pump and valves to sequentially adjust a pressure in two or more of the plurality of the air bladders having an applied load of an end user thereon to provide a repeating pattern within the two or more plurality of the air bladders, wherein the repeating pattern is defined by a pressure increase and subsequent decrease in a selected one of the plurality of the air bladders followed by a pressure increase and subsequent decrease in a selected other one of the plurality of the air bladders to provide a massaging action.
PATIENT SECURING OVERLAY FOR UNDERBODY SUPPORTS
Apparatus and methods related to an underbody support for supporting a body of a being, such as during surgery to prevent contact pressure injuries. In certain embodiments, the underbody support may include one or more inflatable chambers enclosing a volume. At least one of the inflatable chambers may include one or more compression sensitive switches for monitoring the volume of the inflatable chamber, and the one or more compression sensitive switches may be located within the inflatable chamber. In some embodiments the one or more compression sensitive switches are sized to close when the said inflatable chamber is deflated to a desired residual volume.
SMART PLATFORM FOR STRESS REDUCTION AND SLEEP PROMOTION
The present invention provides systems and methods for management and orchestration of a fleet of remote Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices. The present invention includes a platform for onboarding, provisioning, and managing remote IoT devices throughout their lifetime. The platform includes portals for manufacturers, vendors, and consumers to access device data and sensor data collected by the devices. The data collected by the portal is used to control the fleet of remote IoT devices as well as make recommendations, e.g., for sleep promotion and stress reduction.
BODY SUPPORT ASSEMBLY
The invention is directed to a body support assembly comprising (i) an upper cushion zone (6) and a lower cushion zone (7) and separated by a separation sheet (8). The cushion zones (6, 7) comprise of a compressible material which is permeable for air in all directions, (ii) a first flow path (10) for ambient air comprising an air inlet opening (11) at the bottom surface (3) of the support assembly, air displacement means (12), a first heat exchanger (13) and a single or separate air outlet opening (14) at the bottom surface (3) of the support assembly, (iii) a second flow path for air comprising an air inlet (19), air displacement means (20), a second heat exchanger (17), through the lower cushion zone (7), through openings (23) in the separation sheet (8) and through the upper cushion zone (6) and multiple air outlets (22) in the top surface (2). The heat exchangers (13, 17) are part of a Peltier effect unit (16) positioned within the cushion volume (4).
THERMOELECTRIC STRING, PANEL, AND COVERS FOR FUNCTION AND DURABILITY
A thermoelectric device comprising an elongated panel of two foam layers, and having an inserted thermoelectric string is incorporated into a seat cushion, planting pot, and battery thermal manager. Several enhancements to the string and the panel improve its durability, visual appeal, and tactile appeal over the prior art.
Adaptive sleep system using data analytics and learning techniques to improve individual sleep conditions based on a therapy profile
A bed integrates sensors and other inputs to detect specific sleep environment conditions including point-specific pressure and/or temperature conditions. The bed includes a controller for commanding actuator or other devices to adjust these conditions. The controller may do so based on reference patterns for conditions and profiles of desired conditions. Information regarding the conditions may be provided to a remote computer, which may analyze the conditions and provide revised profiles of desired conditions.
