MACHINE TOOL
The invention relates to a machine tool, in particular a lathe grinding machine, comprising a tool spindle having a collet and a spindle motor, wherein the collet has at least two clamping jaws which are actuatable for receiving and releasing a tool, and comprising an air channel which runs radially on the outside of the collet, wherein the air channel is configured as a sealing air channel (42) and forms a positive pressure chamber (44) at least partially above the clamping jaws (26).
Chip/dust prevention cover, chip/dust prevention cover set, chuck mechanism, and machine tool
Intrusion of chips is prevent into gaps formed between inner end surfaces of master jaws and a chuck cover. A top plate is disposed at the center of an end surface of a chuck body. Top covers, which move in conjunction with movements of master jaws when opening and closing the chuck, are disposed in top cover guide recesses formed at three positions on the top plate. Each top cover abuts the center-side end parts of serrated surfaces formed on both widthwise sides of a respective master jaw and the center-side end part of a step section of a stepped claw therebetween, and the top covers close gaps formed at the center-side end parts by the movements of the master jaws at all times by moving in conjunction with movement of the master jaws.
Collet comprising a seal
A collet includes a plurality of clamping jaws movable relative to one another, at least one recess provided in one of mutually facing side faces of adjacent clamping jaws, and a spring inserted into each recess and supporting the adjacent clamping jaws resiliently relative to one another, and a seal sealing the gap between two side faces of adjacent clamping jaws, with the said seal having a fastening portion engaging in the at least one recess.
CHUCK FOR MACHINE TOOL AND SEALING SYSTEM
A chuck for a machine tool includes a body rotatable about a rotation axis and defining a plurality of slots extending radially in the body, a plurality of jaws received in corresponding ones of the plurality of slots, the jaws being radially movable relative to the body between an inward position and an outward position, and for at least one of the plurality of jaws, a sealing layer disposed in the slot receiving the at least one of the plurality of jaws and sealing an interface between opposed lateral sides of the at least one jaw and a surface of the body defining the slot receiving the at least one of the plurality of jaws. A method of sealing an interface between a surface defining a slot of a chuck is also described.
LATHE
Provided is a lathe capable of shortening the spindle. The lathe comprises a spindle, a spindle support which supports the spindle through a bearing on an outer side of the spindle, a collet disposed on a front end of the spindle, an inner ring holder provided on the spindle to hold a front of an inner ring of the bearing, an outer ring holder provided on the spindle support to hold a front of an outer ring of the bearing, a cap screwed into the spindle in front of the inner ring holder, and a cover detachably provided on the spindle support side. The cover has an inner circumferential surface facing an outer circumferential surface of the cap. A first air purging unit is provided between the inner circumferential surface of the cover and the outer circumferential surface of the cap.

The cover has an inner circumferential surface facing an outer circumferential surface of the cap. A first air purging unit is provided between the inner circumferential surface of the cover and the outer circumferential surface of the cap.
Chuck mechanism, stair form member attached jaw and machine tool
A stair form member attached jaw is installed with the stair form member provided at the bottom face of the soft jaw. The stair form member is held between a pair of grips in the jaw installing groove of the master jaw from both sides of the radial direction, thereby pulling the stair form member to the bottom direction of the jaw installing groove. The position of the radial direction of the soft jaw is determined by the engagement between the bottom face of the soft jaw and the upper serration faces of the master jaw; and the position of the soft jaw in the tangent line is determined by the close contact of the stair form member to the side face of the jaw installing groove.
CHIP/DUST PREVENTION COVER, CHIP/DUST PREVENTION COVER SET, CHUCK MECHANISM, AND MACHINE TOOL

Chuck apparatus
A chuck apparatus grips a workpiece by a gripping section having a pair of chuck members. The chuck apparatus is equipped with a cover member and pressing members. The cover member includes insertion holes through which fingers of the chuck members are inserted, and seal members that surround the insertion holes and abut against the fingers. The cover member is attached to a body so as to cover base portions of the chuck members, and is elastically deformable so as to follow displacement of the chuck members. The pressing members press the seal members against the fingers.
