The cutting head includes a cutting portion rotatable about a central longitudinal axis and a cylindrical skirt extending axially from the cutting portion and terminating at a contact face disposed perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The skirt has a number of curved inner surfaces which generally define a bore disposed about the longitudinal axis. The shank includes a cylindrical portion of a first diameter disposed about the central longitudinal axis and a central protrusion disposed in the bore of the cutting portion. The central protrusion has a second diameter less than the first diameter and extends longitudinally from a contact face disposed perpendicular to the longitudinal axis at a leading end of the cylindrical portion.

TOOL HOLDER AND CLAMPING SYSTEM HAVING SUCH A TOOL HOLDER, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A TOOL RECEPTACLE FOR SUCH A TOOL HOLDER
20190168311 · 2019-06-06 · ·

A tool holder includes a main body, a deformable receptacle for clamping a tool, and at least one blocking element which, in order to prevent axial migration of the tool out of the tool holder, is configured to engage in a corresponding counterpart element on the tool and is arranged at the receptacle. In order to allow particularly high concentricity of the tool holder and stable fastening of the clamped-in tool, and at the same time to ensure easy production, the receptacle has two spaced-apart clamping portions, between which the at least one blocking element is arranged.

CUTTING TOOL AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLING CUTTING TOOL

A cutting tool comprises a shank having an insertion portion protruding from a shank main body, a head in which an insertion hole into which the insertion portion is inserted is formed, and a spacer disposed in a gap between the shank main body and the head. The insertion portion has a tapered outer circumferential surface which gradually decreases in diameter from the other side toward one side in the axial direction. The insertion hole has a tapered inner circumferential surface coming into surface contact with the tapered outer circumferential surface. A head end surface of the head which faces the other side in the axial direction comes into surface contact with a surface facing one side in the axial direction of the spacer.

TOOL HOLDER MODULE
20240217086 · 2024-07-04 ·

A tool holder module has a tool holder and a tool holder assembly jig. The tool holder assembly jig has a horizontal supporting seat. A flange recess is formed in the top surface of the horizontal supporting seat and is configured to accommodate a flange of the tool holder. The flange recess has two clamping portions, and each clamping portion protrudes from a respective one of two opposite surfaces of the flange recess and extends linearly from an opening of the flange recess toward a bottom of the flange recess. The two clamping portions are configured to engage with the two clamping recesses to prevent the tool holder from rotating relative to the horizontal supporting seat. The tool holder is selectively mounted on one of the vertical supporting seat and the horizontal supporting seat.

CHUCK, CUTTING TOOL, AND ASSEMBLY
20240217006 · 2024-07-04 ·

An assembly comprises: a chuck, which has a tool-receiving socket, a contact surface, and a screw thread; and a cutting tool, which has a tool shaft, a mating contact surface, and a mating screw thread. In a clamped state, the mating screw thread of the cutting tool is screwed into the screw thread of the chuck, the mating contact surface of the cutting tool is seated against the contact surface of the chuck, and the tool shaft is frictionally torque-transmittingly clamped in the tool-receiving socket. The invention also relates to a chuck of this type and to a cutting tool of this type.

DUAL SIDED DRILL BIT SYSTEM
20190143492 · 2019-05-16 ·

A dual sided drill bit system to facilitate the switch between a drilling tool and a screw driver tool includes a power drill that has a chuck. A receiver is removably coupled to the chuck. The receiver has an open end that extends into a cavity of the receiver. A bit is included that has a first section, a second section and a middle section positioned between the first and second sections. The first, second and middle sections form a unitary structure. The first section has a first end positioned opposite of the middle section and the second section has a second end positioned opposite of the middle section. The first section comprises a drill bit and the second section comprising a screw driver. The bit is removably extended into the receiver such that a selected one of the first or second sections extends outwardly away from the receiver.

SHRINK-FIT CHUCK
20190134717 · 2019-05-09 · ·

The invention concerns a shrink-fit chuck (1) for clamping an object, in particular for clamping a milling cutter in a milling machine, having a cylindrical receiving bore (3) for receiving a cylindrical shank of the object to be clamped, the receiving bore (3) extending in the shrink-fit chuck (1) and being bounded on the outside by a wall (4). The shrink-fit chuck (1) according to the invention is characterised by a rib (12) which extends transversely to the longitudinal axis (13) of the receiving bore (3) and projects inwards from the wall (4) of the receiving bore (3) into the receiving bore (3), so that the rib (12) permits the complete insertion of the shank (5) into the receiving bore (3) only in a predetermined angular position of the shank (5).

Rotary tool with improved coupling assembly

A surgical device comprising: a handle assembly; a locking collar; and a set of replaceable bits that load into the handle assembly; wherein the locking collar is fully removable from the handle assembly, loads axially to a first position, and rotates between the first position and a second position; wherein, in the first position, the locking collar is free to be removed from the handle assembly and the replaceable bits are free to be loaded or unloaded from the handle assembly; wherein, in the second position, the locking collar is prevented from axial movement relative to the handle assembly and the replaceable bits are prevented from being received within, or removed from, the handle assembly; and the locking collar is guided to the first position and between the first position and the second position by a groove in the handle assembly mating with a member carried by the locking collar.
