POROUS BODY, ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR THE BODY AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPORTING AND/OR BEARING A PERSON
It is a feature of a porous body (10, 20) comprising a three-dimensional network of node points (200) joined to one another by struts (100), and a void volume (300) present between the struts (100), that the struts (100) have an average length of 200 to 50 mm, the struts (100) have an average thickness of 100 m to 5 mm, and that the porous body has a compression hardness (40% compression, DIN EN ISO 3386-1: 2010-09) in at least one spatial direction of 10 to 100 kPa. The porous body according to the invention combines the advantages of a conventional mattress or cushion with ventilatability which results from its porous structure and is not achievable in conventional foams. The invention further relates to a method of producing such a porous body (10, 20) and to an apparatus comprising said body (10, 20) for supporting and/or bearing a person.
One-piece mattress suspension device
The invention relates to a one-piece suspension device for interposing between a mattress and a support structure. The device includes a platform defining a bearing plane for the mattress, a fastener point for fastening to the support structure, and a resilient section. The resilient section is more resilient than the platform in a direction perpendicular to the bearing plane and it is interposed between the platform and the fastener point in the direction perpendicular to the bearing plane to absorb compression forces. The one-piece suspension device is shaped such that any axis perpendicular to the bearing plane and passing through the one-piece suspension device intersects the one-piece suspension device along a single intersection segment. The resilient section has at least two elastic hinges with different flexibilities.
Multi-stable compliant-mechanism mattress for bed sore prevention
A pressure sore prevention mattress is provided alternating pressure points on the body of an occupant that is easily transformable between two stable configurations. The four-layer mattress construction has a top foam pad, a webbing layer, a dynamic layer of deformable panels trapezoid-shaped four-bar mechanisms that deform to produce an undulating pattern of peaks, and a base. Panel geometry can determine peak height. The mattress has a spatially hollow geometry that allows natural air convection through the breathable top foam pad to enable drying of moisture as well as the use of forced air convective drying or cooling. The mattress can be transformed from one configuration to the other while the occupant is on the mattress.
MULTI LAYERED MODULAR SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR LOUNGE AND OTHER APPLICATIONS
A lounge having a matrix mat and a plurality of modules capable of being inserted into the matrix mat. The lounge may include a frame configured as a rigid frame, a modular frame, and combinations thereof. The modular frame may further include a tri-cable suspension. The tri-cable suspension may be attached to a dilator retractor mechanism. The modules may be a mushroom cap module, a spider spring module, a web module, a lighting module, an electronics module, and combinations thereof.
COMPUTER-SHAPED MOTION BED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A computer-shaped motion bed system includes a mattress having embedded therein an array of disks, a sensor array for sensing body position on the mattress, an array of actuators, and an array of connectors for connecting each of a plurality of the disks embedded in the mattress to each of a plurality of the actuators. The system includes a controller having a processor coupled to a data store and in communication with the array of actuators, and programmed, upon receiving signals from the sensor array, to cause the a subset of the array of actuators to pull on a subset of the array of connectors, thereby pulling on a subset of the array of disks embedded in the mattress, so as to alter contours of a surface of the mattress, whereby the mattress is caused to increase comfort of a user, match contours of the user's body, or better support the user's body.
FURNITURE CONSTRUCTION WITH ELASTIC OR SPRING MODULES
Furniture is assembled from elastic modules enabling rapid and convenient assembly and disassembly. The elastic module has a spring, an outer covering layer, and an end member attached to an end face of the outer covering layer. A mattress includes a plurality of individual spring assemblies (145), with each spring assembly including at least one spring (134) and a spring cap (144, 150, 161, 164, 171, 184, 194, 204). Each spring cap has at least one first attachment fitting (168, 178, 174, 186, 196) and at least one second attachment fitting (169, 180, 176, 187) with each first attachment fitting engageable into or onto and removable from a second attachment fitting of an adjoining spring cap. The spring assemblies are attached to each other via the first and second attachment fittings, forming the individual spring assemblies into a spring core. A top pad is positioned on top of the spring core. The mattress can be quickly dis-assembled and stored in a compact space by removing the top pad and separating the spring assemblies from each other.
SPRING MODULE AND SPRING CUSHION FOR FURNITURE
The present invention provides a spring module for a spring cushion of furniture and a spring cushion having the same, the spring module may comprise a spring and a spring bracket for accommodating the conical spring, and the spring bracket may comprise a base, an end cover and a flexible connecting part connected therebetween, the spring may be fixed in the spring bracket with a predetermined initial pressure. The present invention further relates to a spring cushion having the spring module.
Compressible sitting stool
The present invention relates to a compressible sitting stool. The stool may include a housing, a compressible layer located in the housing interior, and a plurality of dowels located above the compressible layer. The tops of the plurality of dowels create a sitting area and when a user sits on the sitting area, the dowels move downwards compressing the compressible material.
CUSHIONING MEMBER SYSTEMS AND ASSEMBLIES
A cushioning system may include a plurality of cushioning members comprising an elastomeric material. Each cushioning member may comprise a top end, bottom end, and a plurality of walls extending from the top end to the bottom end and defining a plurality of cavities. Each cushioning member may be substantially planar with a mating profile configured to engage with a complimentary mating profile of a second cushioning member. A mattress assembly may include a cushioning system as a support layer.
