Method for predicting drill bit wear
A system for improving drill bit performance, comprising processors and memory storing instructions to obtain a wear report for a drill bit, wherein the wear report includes wear characteristics of the drill bit and drill operating parameters under which the drill bit was used; compare the wear characteristics of the drill bit to a threshold for acceptable drill bit wear; and adjust drill operating parameters based on the wear characteristics of the drill bit. The instructions to obtain the wear report for the drill bit include instructions to analyze images of the drill bit to identify wear characteristics; identify wear patterns based on the wear characteristics of the drill bit; identify probable drilling conditions based on the wear patterns; and generate the wear report for the drill bit based on the images of the drill bit, the wear characteristics of the drill bit, and the probable drilling conditions.
Method for detecting connecting elements, in particular friction drilling screws, in mechanical joining and forming processes in which an error event in the process was identified
Methods and devices are provided for detecting connecting elements, in particular friction drilling screws, in mechanical joining and forming processes in which an error event in the process was identified. The method includes moving a carrier component for the connecting element toward a workpiece to determine a contact point of the connecting element on the workpiece. This feeding step is carried out as a next method step after the error event is detected and ascertains whether the contact point is detected within a predefined permissible tolerance in order to determine whether the connecting element is still located in a feed head.
Method for determining the state of wear of a drill, and corresponding device
A method is provided for assessing wear of a drill bit throughout its use for carrying out the drilling of elements to be drilled constituted by at least one layer and at least one material. The wear of the drill bit expresses its capacity to perform a drilling that meets at least one criterion of quality of a drilling. The method includes at least: measuring or detecting at least one parameter having an effect on the wear of the drill bit, the parameter being chosen from: the depth of drilling performed by the drill bit, and the entry of the drill bit into the element to be drilled; and determining at least one state of wear of the drill bit, each state of wear being determined as a function of one of the parameters and being characteristic of one of the criteria of quality of a drilling.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A CORE DRILLING MACHINE, AND CORE DRILLING MACHINE AND CORE DRILL BIT FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD
A method for operating an electric core drilling machine, in particular a magnetic core drilling machine, comprising the steps: identification of a core drill bit detachably connected to the core drilling machine, by means of an information carrier associated with the core drill bit and an information receiver associated with the core drilling machine; detection of a load quantity of the core drill bit; determination of a wear value of the core drill bit on the basis of the value of the load quantity; issuance of an error value when the wear value exceeds a wear limit value; as well as issuance of a signal to indicate the necessity of replacing and/or repairing the core drill bit. In addition, the invention relates to a core drilling machine and a core drill bit for carrying out the method.
METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE STATE OF WEAR OF A DRILL, AND CORRESPONDING DEVICE.
SENSOR MODULE AND TOOL HOLDER FOR A CUTTING TOOL
A sensor module for a tool holder for a cutting tool, such that when the sensor module is arranged to the tool holder having a cutting tool connected thereto, an axial portion of the cutting tool is positionable in a predefined rest position with respect to the sensor module. The sensor module includes at least one position sensor, wherein, when the sensor module is arranged to the tool holder having a cutting tool connected thereto, the position sensor is located radially spaced from the axial portion of the cutting tool for measuring deflection of the cutting tool with respect to the rest position. The disclosure further relates to a tool holder, a cutting tool, a cutting assembly, and a method for measuring deflection of a cutting tool.

Provided is a rotary machine tool with which it is possible to measure, in real time, the damage or extreme wear thereof. The rotary machine tool of the present invention is provided with at least: a sensor installation hole which has the rear end being open to the exterior at the rear end of the main body of the rotary cutting tool, and the tip being above the tip of the main body of the rotary machine tool and closed off from the exterior; a sensor that is positioned at the tip of the sensor installation hole and detects the state at the positioned position; and a sensor insertion hole that is connected to one end of the sensor and is coupled with the rear end of the rotary cutting tool.
Devices for Broken Drill Bit Removal
Devices for broken drill bit removal are provided herein. The drill bit includes a center through hole situated longitudinally and interiorly in the drill bit. A wire rope first end is welded to a cutting tip of the drill bit and retained freely within the walls of the center through hole and said wire rope having a stop attached at a second end. Should the drill bit be compromised, leaving the portion of drill bit head lodged in the bore, the pieces of drill bit are still connected via said wire rope and the lodged portion can be easily and quickly removed by pulling and backing out the powered device that was driving the drill bit thus alleviating the necessity of EDMing the broken drill bit out of the bored component.
