METHOD AND APPARATUSES RELATED TO HOLE CUTTING
A method for hole cutting in a workpiece made of CFRP with a cutting tool including at least one cutting edge is provided. Further, a hole cutting assisting apparatus and an apparatus for hole cutting includes a cutting tool, a drive for rotating the cutting tool, and a heating element configured for heating at least a portion of the cutting edge of the cutting tool.
METHOD AND TOOL FOR RECONDITIONING A DAMAGED THREAD
It is described a method for reconditioning a damaged thread of a transmission of a hover-capable aircraft; the damaged thread being arranged inside a first hole of the transmission; wherein the method includes the following steps: i) centering a tool on the first hole; ii) inserting a first tool inside the tool centred on the first hole and removing the damaged thread through the first tool; iii) inserting a second tool inside the tool and creating a new thread inside the first hole having a diameter larger than the one of the damaged thread; iv) screwing an insert having a thread inside the new thread, so that the insert engages the first hole and defines a reconditioned thread; and v) keeping the transmission mounted on the hover-capable aircraft during steps i), ii), iii), iv).
SYSTEM FOR HOLE MAKING FOR AIRCRAFT SKIN BY NORMAL POSITIONING AND LOCKING
The invention discloses a system for hole making for an aircraft skin by normal positioning and locking. The hole-making system includes a posture adjustment part, a normal positioning and locking part and a hole-making execution part. This system solves the problems that the device in the prior art has high complexity and cumbersome positioning and does not adapt to complex curved surfaces, thereby failing to satisfy the needs of efficient hole making in different space states. In the present invention, the expansion of an outer expansion sleeve in a bottom sleeve locks a normal direction for hole making, thereby ensuring the positioning accuracy of the normal direction. An axial position is locked by the mutual cooperation of an axial positioning groove of the bottom sleeve and an axial positioning rib of the outer expansion sleeve. A hole-making auxiliary cylinder contracts to counteract part of an axial force for hole making.

Portable doweling jig
A portable doweling jig includes a generally cuboidal body comprising four sets of bores that facilitate the drilling of precisely positioned holes into workpieces for receiving standard-sized construction dowels. Despite the absence of moving parts, the present invention accommodates dowels of different diameters, and also workpieces of both standard and nonstandard thicknesses. Furthermore, the present invention makes possible the creation of three types of dowel joints: edge-to-surface, edge-to-edge, and surface-to-surface.
Drill Guides With Canting Base and Dowel Jig Attachments
These inventions include three drill guides (Multiguide, Triguide, and Uniguide), and two attachments (canting base and dowel jig). The drill guides allow users to drill holes to prescribed depths into flat work surfaces using various sizes of twist and auger bits while eliminating marring and reducing wood splintering. The canting base attachment allows users to drill holes to prescribed depths and at variable angles into flat surfaces and both large and small cylinders having zero, one, or two free ends using various kinds and sizes of drilling tools including twist, auger, and Forstner bits. The dowel jig attachment allows users to drill dowel holes to prescribed depths in edges and faces of work pieces that are evenly spaced apart by numerous gauged distances and at infinitely adjustable distances from edges without slippage or misalignment. These inventions have drill press-like capabilities and can be used in fields and shops.
Solvent Trap Tool
An apparatus and method to aid in providing a bore through a solvent trap that is both vertical and aligned with the centerline of the solvent trap. The apparatus includes a base, cap, and drill bushing. The base includes an exterior and a first central opening that forms an interior. The first central opening is configured to receive at least a portion of a solvent trap. The cap is configured to be secured to a portion of the solvent trap and includes the drill bushing positioned within a second central opening of the cap. The drill bushing includes a third central opening configured to align a drill bit along a centerline of the solvent trap. The third central opening may be configured to permit passage of various sizes of firearm rounds.
