Embedding fiducial marks into articles of manufacture with non-trivial dimensional variations
The illustrative embodiment of the present invention uses a tangible three-dimensional structure as a fiducial mark, which structure is, at least partially, tolerant of dimensional variations in the article. The illustrative embodiment uses three such tangible three-dimensional structures: (1) a portion of a tangible conical surface, (2) a portion of a tangible spheroidal surface, and (3) a portion of a tangible pyramidal surface.
Rotational cutting tool for trimming workpiece
A rotational cutting tool includes a connecting end for engaging with a driving tool and a cutting end for engaging with the work piece. The connecting end and the cutting end rotate about the rotation axis upon rotation of the rotational cutting tool. An inner periphery of the cutting end defines a receiving space for receiving the work piece. The receiving space has a conic surface which extends radially and obliquely with respect to the rotation axis. The receiving space includes a first ridge forming at least one cutting edge for trimming the workpiece and at least one slot allowing trimmed pieces from the workpiece to exit from the receiving space. The first cutting edge extends radially and obliquely with respect to the rotation axis. The first cutting edge extends curvedly and has a curved contour.
DEBURRING TOOL
A deburring tool (10) for deburring at least one through-hole (24) in a workpiece, the surface (38) of the through-hole (24) to be deburred located on the side away from the deburring tool (10), the tool comprising a main body (12) with a tool shaft (14) and a tool head (16), the tool shaft (14) having a clamping section (16) and the tool head (16) having a guide section (20) with a guide sleeve (22) extending along or parallel to an axis of rotation (36). The tool head (16) comprises at least one flexible fibre (26) with an abrasive surface (28), which is permanently or detachably attached in the guide sleeve (22), the fibre (26) having a free length (L1) and the guide sleeve (22) having a length (L2), the free length (L1) and/or the length (L2) corresponding to at least the depth (T) of the through-hole (24).
DEVICE FOR DETACHING AT LEAST ONE BURR FROM AN OPENING OF AT LEAST ONE TRANSVERSE BORE-HOLE OF A WORKPIECE, DRILLING STATION HAVING THE DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETACHING THE AT LEAST ONE BURR USING THE DRILLING STATION
A device for detaching a burr from an opening of a transverse borehole of a workpiece includes an elongate shank for positioning in a longitudinal borehole of the workpiece and a fillet to avoid the elongate shank colliding with a drill for drilling the transverse borehole. In an example embodiment, the device has an aperture to further avoid the elongate shank colliding with the drill. In an example embodiment, the elongate shank has a cutting section with a cutting edge for detaching the burr from the opening of the transverse borehole.
STOP FOR A DRILLING, MILLING OR COUNTERSINKING TOOL
A stop for a rotating drilling, milling or countersinking tool comprising a stop sleeve coupled to a radial rolling bearing in such a way that it freely rotates about the tool, an outer bearing bush of the radial rolling bearing being attached to the stop sleeve and an inner bearing bush of the radial rolling bearing being attached to a shaft sleeve that can be attached to a tool shaft of the tool. An axial rolling bearing is also provided, a housing washer of the axial rolling bearing being supported on the stop sleeve and a shaft washer of the axial rolling bearing being supported on the shaft sleeve. In a secondary aspect, the invention relates to a drilling, milling or countersinking tool provided with such a stop.
Counterbore Tool and Setting Tool for Fascia System and Installation Method
A drilling tool has a working piece retained by a retainer mounted to a collar. The working piece includes a distal shank and a cutting section and is rotationally fixed relative to the retainer. The retainer may include an engagement protrusion positioned outward of the shank with the protrusion engaging an inner surface of the collar or the collar may include an engagement protrusion with the protrusion engaging an inner surface of the retainer to create a quasi-floating relationship between the retainer and collar. The cutting section may have a distal primary bore cutting sub-section and a proximal counterbore cutting sub-section. The collar includes a lower surface for abutment against a building member during drilling operation to halt axial movement of the tool.
Registration of articles of manufacture with dimensional variations
The illustrative embodiment of the present invention uses a tangible three-dimensional structure as a fiducial mark, which structure is, at least partially, tolerant of dimensional variations in the article. The illustrative embodiment uses three such tangible three-dimensional structures: (1) a portion of a tangible conical surface, (2) a portion of a tangible spheroidal surface, and (3) a portion of a tangible pyramidal surface.
Rotary cutter for cutting damaged threads of a bolt
A rotary cutter for cutting damaged threads of a bolt includes a body rotatable about a rotating axis and having a connecting end and an operative end. A first cutting blade is disposed on an inner periphery of the body facing a cutting space extending along the rotating axis from the operative end towards but spaced from the connecting end. The body further includes a virtual projection plane perpendicular to the rotating axis. A first virtual plane passes through the first cutting blade and extends perpendicularly to the virtual projection plane. A virtual circle and a first virtual reference line are located on the virtual projection plane. The first virtual reference line intersects the rotating axis and passes through an intersection of the first virtual plane and the virtual circle. An angle between the first virtual reference line and the first virtual plane is between 5 and 40.
DEBURRING TOOL AND DEBURRING METHOD
A deburring tool for stable processing is provided. The deburring tool includes a cylindrical housing; a spindle loosely fitted and supported to be tiltable with respect to an axis of the housing, the spindle having a rotatable attachment portion for detachably attaching a cutting tool at a distal end; a pressed member arranged to the spindle; a piston slidably disposed inside the housing, the piston configured to press the pressed member toward the distal end; an elastic member configured to urge the piston toward the distal end; a separate ring arranged between the piston and the elastic member; and a flow path for supplying a compressible fluid between the separate ring and the piston.
