A drill assembly and method is provided for enlarging an injector of a reactor. The drill assembly includes an elongated shaft attached to a piloted drill bit including a pilot portion distal from and extending colinearly with the elongated shaft and a cutting portion proximal the elongated shaft and positioned between the pilot portion and the elongated shaft, wherein the cutting portion includes at least one cutting edge extending radially from a center axis of rotation beyond an outer surface of the pilot portion; and a drive device adapted to rotate the elongated shaft about the axis of rotation. The method includes inserting the pilot portion into an injector; and cutting away a portion of an inner surface of the injector with the cutting portion.
MACHINING APPARATUS, METHOD FOR USING MACHINING APPARATUS AND CHUCK DEVICE
A machining apparatus capable of drilling a long workpiece from an end surface of a diameter-expanded part and drilling a short workpiece from an end surface of a stem part without inverting orientation of a collet and a sleeve in a chuck device is provided, as well as a method of using the same, and a chuck device for the machining apparatus. A deep hole drilling machine and a chuck device are included with a sleeve and a collet included inside the chuck device, and the collet and the sleeve each have both end openings opened toward the outside of the chuck device. The opening on one end side of each of the sleeve and the collet is directed to the deep hole drilling machine, and the collet is disposed on the other end side of the sleeve.
Method and tool for producing a surface of predetermined roughness
For producing a cylindrical surface that has a surface structure of predetermined geometry suitable for application of material by thermal spraying, a geometrically predetermined groove structure of minimal depth and width is introduced into the surface by a tool embodied as a follow-on tool in that a groove cross-section is processed successively to a final size. In order for the surface to be producible in mass production with constant quality, the groove structure is worked in such that first a base groove is introduced with a groove bottom width that is smaller than the groove bottom width of the finished groove. Subsequently, at least one flank of the base groove is processed for producing an undercut groove profile by a non-cutting action or cutting action wherein the introduced groove structure is deformed in such a way that the groove openings are constricted by upsetting deformations of material.
CYLINDER, METHOD FOR FINISHING A CYLINDER, RECIPROCATING PISTON SYSTEM AND USE OF A RECIPROCATING PISTON SYSTEM
A cylinder for a reciprocating piston system, with a cylinder running surface, which is finished by machining by means of a tool with a geometrically defined cutting edge, wherein the finished cylinder running surface has a multiplicity of pores and/or cavities and is formed from a grey cast iron material with a proportion of the surface area that is taken up by pores of 2 to 10% or is formed from a thermally sprayed layer of iron or a thermally sprayed layer of ceramic with a proportion of the surface area that is taken up by pores of 5 to 25%. A method is also provided for finishing a cylinder in which a cylinder running surface of the cylinder is finished by machining by a tool with a geometrically defined cutting edge such that after the finishing the cylinder surface has a multiplicity of pores and/or cavities.
CUTTING TOOL AND CUTTING DEVICE
A cutting tool has a main body and a cutter. The main body has an outer peripheral surface having one end and the other end. The cutter is fixed to the main body. The main body is provided with a hole extending in a direction from a region surrounded by one end toward a region surrounded by the other end. When viewed from this direction, the shape of the opening of the hole is circular, and the hole is provided inner than the outer peripheral surface. The cutter has a member disposed inside the hole.

A drill assembly and method is provided for enlarging an injector of a reactor. The method includes inserting the pilot portion into an injector; and cutting away a portion of an inner surface of the injector with the cutting portion.

A cutting edge configuration of a cutting tool for performing a cutting process on a surface (21) of a workpiece (19), the cutting tool including a rake face (3) provided with first and second cutting edges (11, 13), the cutting tool being moved relative to the surface-to-be-cut (21) with the first and second cutting edges (11, 13) cutting thereinto to thereby perform the cutting process, wherein the first cutting edge (11) is positioned ahead of the second cutting edge (13) in a cutting direction (z-direction) of the cutting tool to provide the rake face (3) with a feed-direction (y-direction) rake-angle, and the cutting tool is fed in a direction from a side of the second cutting edge (13) to a side of the first cutting edge (11).

A fluid passage device including a passage for flowing high-pressure fluid of a predetermined or higher pressure comprises a sac bore cylinder of a metal, which includes therein a closed passage and a branch passage. The closed passage is shaped to extend straightly in a predetermined direction and has a closed top end, and the branch passage is branched off from the closed passage. A top end part of the closed passage at a closed side is defined by a ceiling wall surface, which is perpendicular to the predetermined direction, a passage wall surface, which is parallel to the predetermined direction, and a connecting wall surface, which connects the ceiling wall surface and the passage wall surface.
The connecting wall surface is shaped to curve in a direction to expand the closed passage.
EXTRACTION PROCESS OF A GLOW PLUG PENCIL FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE AND THE TOOLING SET FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SUCH A PROCESS
The invention involves the extraction process of a glow plug pencil (23) or a broken pencil (23) which is stuck in a cylinder head (13) housing (11) of a glow plug engine comprising a lower (19) and upper (17) part, so that the upper part (17) forms a shoulder (21) with the lower part (19), the pencil (23) being stuck in the lower part (19). The process is remarkable in that it includes a step (a) for drilling a bore in the pencil (23) according to the longitudinal direction of the latter which is performed with the use of a drill bit (1) comprising a drilling part (5) with flutes (7) and a shank (3) respectively having a diameter smaller and greater than the lower part diameter (19) of the housing (11) so that the shank (3) forms a shoulder (9) with the drilling part (5), and in that step a) for drilling the bore includes the drilling of the pencil (23) until the said shoulder (9) of the drill bit (1) is positioned to a stop against the shoulder (21) of the housing (11).
