DEVICE FOR OPENING CONNECTION TO LINED PIPE
A device for opening a connection to a lined pipe is disclosed. The device has a body that includes a front end and a rear end and being rotatable about a rotation axis. The device also has a drill head that has multiple cutters for puncturing and enlarging a hole in a liner, and multiple side cutters have at least one cutting edge parallel to the rotation axis. A safety ring is disposed on the body between the drill head and the side cutters. The safety ring has a circular periphery extending beyond the drill head and the side cutters in a direction perpendicular to the rotation axis.
Method And Device For Stripping The Insulation From Pre-Insulated Pipe Conduits
A method and device for stripping the insulation from and peeling pre-insulated pipe ends by means of a peeling and cutting tool.
Method and apparatus of hot tapping multiple coaxial or nested strings of underwater piping and/or tubing for overturned wells or platforms
A method and apparatus for tapping into a pressurized multiple strings of coaxially situated tubulars for wells and/or platforms which have overturned wherein the tapping occurs underwater via a diver or remotely operated vehicle. The assembly includes a tapping tool connectable to the tubular via a saddle connection and an adjustable tapping clamp with adjustable support/locking feet, compression plate with view ports, and angularly adjustable hot tapping system, along with a drill/saw system.
Modular tubing notcher system
A machining assembly which allows for precise and repeatable machining operationsprimarily tube notchingto be carried out by an operator in various situations, and is specifically designed for hollow-form parting without use of a mandrel in prototyping and small-scale production. This system allows operators to cut copes in both typical and atypical materials, and offers the ability to produce double end-coped workpieces quickly. Additionally, the preferred embodiment can be equipped for use as a light-duty milling machine which incorporates portability with the benefits of traditional milling centers.
Portable pipe lathe and method
A pipe lathe includes a shaft; a cutting head supported on the shaft for movement with the shaft; a mandrel positionable on an outboard end of the shaft for supporting the shaft along a machining axis; and a first external pipe clamp and a second external pipe clamp, the first and the second external pipe clamps supported for external pipe engagement substantially concentrically about the machining axis. Multiple spaced apart engagement sites provided by the mandrel within the pipe and the external pipe clamps on an outer surface of the pipe support the pipe in a linear and centered position for machining by the cutting head, even when the pipe is non-linear, flexible and possibly with a cross section that is non-circular.
PIPE END MACHINING DEVICE
A pipe end machining device configured to machine an end of a pipe includes an outer housing, a spindle rotatably mounted within the outer housing and configured to carry tool supports and cutting tools, a mounting assembly configured to be attached to the pipe, a stem extending from the mounting assembly and connected to the spindle by an interengagement which allows the spindle to move linearly relative to the stem, but prevents rotational movement of the spindle relative to the stem, and a locking assembly attached to the stem and configured to fix the vertical position of the outer housing and the spindle relative to the mounting assembly.
CRASH RESISTANT TRIP FOR A PIPE MACHINING APPARATUS
A pipe machining apparatus includes a frame, a tool support, an advancement device, and an advancement member. The tool support is coupled to and movable relative to the frame. The tool support is adapted to support a tool and move the tool in a direction toward a pipe at an increment. The advancement device includes an advancement projection fixedly attached to the frame. The advancement projection includes a contact-surface. The advancement member is coupled to the tool support. Upon the advancement member contacting the contact-surface of the advancement projection the advancement member is adapted to advance the tool towards the pipe at the increment. The contact-surface of the advancement projection is shaped to always be in a non-perpendicular contact position with the advancement member.
Gearing arrangement
A pipe machining apparatus includes a frame, a tool support mounted on a tool carrier which is mounted on the frame, and a gearing arrangement for rotating the frame, and a motor for rotating the gearing arrangement. The gearing arrangement includes a toothed pinion gear, a toothed backlash adjustment gear which is moveable relative to the pinion gear and being capable of being fixed in position relative to the pinion gear by a locking assembly, and a toothed bull gear affixed to the tool carrier. The teeth of the bull gear are capable of being engaged with the teeth of the pinion gear and with the teeth of the backlash adjustment gear, the bull gear to minimize backlash.
NOVEL METHOD FOR SYNCHRONOUS AND FIXED-LENGTH CUTTING-OFF OF CONTINUOUSLY-PROCESSED MATERIALS THROUGH MULTIPLE CUTTER HOLDERS ARRANGED IN SERIES
A method for synchronous and specified-length cutting of continuously-formed materials by multiple lathes connected in series in production lines of continuously-formed materials, such as steel pipes and steel sections. A synchronous and specified-length cutting machine having multiple lathes connected in series is provided with two or more lathes that are separately equipped with a cutting tool. The lathes are installed in series on a rail parallel to a material and are driven by respective driver means to move back and forth according to a set procedure; in the case that the speed of the lathe is synchronous with that of the material, the cutting tool on the lathe cuts the material according to a specified length. The cutting machine can be adapted to high-speed production lines, allows a small minimum specified length, possesses cutting tools having a long service life, and achieves smooth cuts.
