The body includes a tapered portion and the body extends from the shank to the proximal end of the tapered drill bit. The tapered drill bit further includes at least one flute extending from the proximal end along a portion of the body. The tapered drill bit also includes a conduit extending from an inlet aperture at the distal end to an outlet aperture, wherein the outlet aperture is formed through the at least one flute.
ELECTRICAL POTENTIAL MACHINING DEVICES AND METHODS
A device for machining a work piece creates an electrical potential between an electrode and the work piece or another conducting body proximate to the work piece. The electrical potential establishes an electrical field within the work piece that is expected to repel electrons and create a region of positively charged ions which repel one another. This region is expected to be weakened and material is expected to be removable from this region of the work piece using less force and energy than when machined by traditional machining techniques.
Coated tool and cutting tool
A coated tool may include a base member including a first surface and a coating layer located on the base member. The coating layer may include a first layer, a second layer, and a plurality of voids. In an inclination angle distribution graph in which an inclination angle formed by a normal line of a {112} surface that is a crystal surface of crystal grains of the first layer with respect to a normal line of a surface of the first layer is measured, the measured inclination angles within a range of 0 to 45? are divided into pitches of 0.25?, and degrees existing in each division are accumulated, the highest peak exists in a range of 0 to 10?. The total number of degrees existing within this range accounts for 45% or more of all degrees.
Entry Sheet For Cutting Fiber Reinforced Composite Material Or Metal, And Cutting Method For Cutting Fiber Reinforced Material Or Metal
An entry sheet of the present invention is used in cutting a fiber reinforced composite material and/or a metal. Moreover, in a cutting method of the present invention, cutting of a fiber reinforced composite material and/or a metal is performed using the entry sheet.
SOLID-LUBRICATED METAL CUTTER AND PROCESSING METHOD THEREOF
A solid-lubricated metal cutter and processing method relates to the technical field of metal cutters. A surface texture morphology is worked out on a metal cutter, a solid lubricant is filled into the surface texture morphology, and a convex dam is arranged on the cutter surface on which surface texture morphology is located at a chip flow side. The surface texture morphology has micro-pit and micro-boss features, and can exert antifriction effect of a solid lubricant and anti-adhesion effect of micro-protrusions. The convex dam is arranged at an end of the micro-texture region away from the cutting blade, so that a part of the solid lubricant flows back to the texture region and thereby the utilization efficiency and retentiveness of the solid lubricant are improved.
NEGATIVE FINISH TURNING INSERT WITH CHIP FORMING ARRANGEMENT
A turning insert for machining both Inconel and Titanium workpieces. The insert includes a chip forming arrangement including only a single v-shaped groove. The groove includes a specific depth and position to improve machining of both Inconel and Titanium work pieces.
CUTTER DEVICE FOR PROCESSING DIFFICULT-TO-MACHINE MATERIAL
Provided is a cutter apparatus for machining a difficult-to-machine material, the cutter apparatus including: a cutting tool body which has a fastening portion formed at a center thereof; one or more cutters which are installed on the cutting tool body, and have superhard insert tips fixed to end portions thereof, respectively; and an angle adjusting unit which is installed in an internal space of the cutters, and adjusts angles of the cutters by spreading or retracting the cutters, so that angles of the cutters may be easily adjusted in accordance with a condition for cutting a difficult-to-machine material, in order to prevent damage to the superhard insert tips when machining a difficult-to-machine material having high hardness and high toughness.
SURFACE-COATED CUTTING TOOL
A surface-coated cutting tool includes a tool body made of a tungsten carbide-based cemented carbide or a titanium carbonitride-based cermet and a hard coating layer that includes a lower layer and an upper layer and formed on the tool body. The lower layer is composed of a Ti compound layer including at least a TiCN layer. The upper layer includes an Al.sub.2O.sub.3 layer having an -type crystal structure. In the Al.sub.2O.sub.3 crystal grains of the upper layer, when a coincidence grain boundary distribution graph is measured, sulfur is segregated in a grain boundary of 31 or more and a grain boundary length thereof is 20% to 50% relative to the whole grain boundary length in the constituent atom sharing lattice point form of 3 or more. Absolute values of residual stress of a flank face and a rake face are 100 MPa or less.
Drilling tool
A hand drilling tool of one or more elements coupled therebetween comprising: a chuck (2) tightened in the spindle of a tool machine allowing the tool rotation; an elongated point body (3) with tool diameter (2) having at least four helical grooves developing longitudinally on the point body and defining at least two primary cutters, and at least two secondary cutters; said two primary cutters forming a tip angle; said secondary cutters having a discharge surface S; said discharge surface S is shaped so as to create an interruption between the secondary cutters and the primary cutters by contributing to reduce the operator's effort, to reduce the temperature and to promote the discharge of the worked material. Said point body (3) is formed by a substantially cylindrical first portion and a substantially conical second portion with taper towards the end of the tool.
Drilling tool and device for drilling with cryogenic cooling and method for drilling a stack of heterogeneous materials
A drill bit having an interior canal for liquid nitrogen to pass longitudinally through the body of the drill bit. The canal has, on the side of a cutting edge of the drill bit, at least one liquid nitrogen ejection duct that opens near the cutting edge which is formed by an insert made with polycrystalline diamond fixed to the body of the drill bit. A device for drilling a metal-composite stack includes the drill bit, a liquid nitrogen production unit and a distribution network to distribute the liquid nitrogen. The device drills through a metal-composite stack in a single pass of the drill bit. The liquid nitrogen at cryogenic temperature is conveyed close to the cutting edge, at least while the cutting edge is in contact with the metallic material.
