DRILL
A drill includes a tip cutting edge provided at a tip end thereof and a main cutting edge continuous to a rearward of the tip cutting edge. A point angle of the tip cutting edge is a predetermined acute angle. A point angle of the main cutting edge decreases from a front end toward a rear end of the main cutting edge. A point angle at the front end of the main cutting edge is an acute angle greater than the point angle of the tip cutting edge.
PRODUCTION METHOD AND PRODUCTION APPARATUS FOR RING-SHAPED PART
A production method for a ring-shaped part is provided with: an inner cutting step for reciprocating a first cutting blade in the radial direction D4 from a state of contact with the center of the thickness of one end 91a of a rotating cylindrical blank 91 and moving toward the other end 91b in the axial direction D1 to form a semicircular track while cutting the inner circumferential R1-side of the cylindrical blank 91; an outer cutting step before, after or simultaneously with the inner cutting step for reciprocating a second cutting blade in the radial direction D4 from a state of contact with the center of the thickness of the one end 91a of the rotating cylindrical blank 91 and moving toward the other end 91b in the axial direction D1 to form a semicircular track while cutting the outer circumferential R2-side of the cylindrical blank 91; and a separation step after the inner cutting step and the outer cutting step for cutting the portion 92 of the cylindrical blank 91, the inner circumferential R1-side and the outer circumferential R2-side of which have been cut, from the remainder 93 of the cylindrical blank 91 to obtain a ring-shaped part 94 with a roughly circular cross-section.
PORTABLE PIPE LATHE AND METHOD
A pipe lathe includes a shaft; a cutting head supported on the shaft for movement with the shaft; a mandrel positionable on an outboard end of the shaft for supporting the shaft along a machining axis; and a first external pipe clamp and a second external pipe clamp, the first and the second external pipe clamps supported for external pipe engagement substantially concentrically about the machining axis. Multiple spaced apart engagement sites provided by the mandrel within the pipe and the external pipe clamps on an outer surface of the pipe support the pipe in a linear and centered position for machining by the cutting head, even when the pipe is non-linear, flexible and possibly with a cross section that is on-circular.
DRILLING TEMPLATE
A 3D printed drilling template (20, 30a, 30b, 30c) including: a rigid framework able to be manipulated by an operator or an automaton, and a set of traversing (22, 32a, 32b, 32c, 33c) orifices in the framework and arranged to guide the drilling of holes into a structure on which the drilling template is mounted, wherein the drilling template (20, 30a, 30b, 30c) is designed or revised on an ad-hoc basis and manufactured by 3D printing and using a 3D printing material based on a polymer material mixed with powdered graphene.
Machining apparatus and methods for performing machining operations
Disclosed is a multiple machining apparatus for, upon receiving a plastic cylindrical work piece therewithin, performing multiple machining operations thereon. The apparatus includes a rotary fixture capable of rotation; the rotary fixture includes a proximal means for snugly holding a proximal portion of the work piece, and a distal means for holding substantially the rest of the portion of the work piece. The apparatus further consists of a movable table with a blade holder for holding a plurality of blades, each of which corresponding to a machining operation, the movable table and thereby the blade holder is capable of movement along X, Y and Z axes. The apparatus performs multiple machining operations on the work piece by virtue of the rotation of the rotary fixture, rotation of the blades, and the movement of the movable table, working against the rotating work piece.
Multiple spaced apart engagement sites provided by the mandrel within the pipe and the external pipe clamps on an outer surface of the pipe support the pipe in a linear and centered position for machining by the cutting head, even when the pipe is non-linear, flexible and possibly with a cross section that is non-circular.
Method of machining workpiece and boring drill
A method of machining a workpiece is provided that is capable of forming a fresh air inlet in an arbitrary position in an outer shell of a container. According to the present invention, a method of machining a workpiece is provided that includes: machining to form a round hole in a workpiece using a boring drill having a tubular end portion, the end portion provided with a flat surface and a notch, and having a blade on a side of the notch, by pressing the flat surface against the workpiece while rotating the drill to contact the blade with the workpiece.
Method for achieving length accuracy of diamond turned parts
A temporary part is mounted onto the chuck of the diamond turning machine. A diamond turning tip of the diamond turning machine is used to form a reference surface on the temporary part, registering a baseline for a motion control system of the diamond turning machine. While the temporary part remains mounted to the diamond turning machine, a workpiece is mounted onto the temporary part, and the diamond tip is controlled relative to the reference surface to diamond turn a surface profile on the workpiece. Because the baseline established by the reference surface compensates for positional variations from mounting parts directly onto the chuck of the diamond turning machine, the length of the workpiece can be shaped to a designated length with a high degree of accuracy.
Tool holder for connecting a diamond drill to a drill bit
A device for holding and securing a tool, in particular, a drill bit, on a machine tool, for example, a core drill, including an output shaft for transmitting a torque generated in the machine tool to the tool; and a union nut positioned around the output shaft for detachably connecting the output shaft to an attachment end of the tool. The output shaft includes a locking ring and the union nut includes a washer disk, as well as an attenuator, the washer disk being positioned between the locking ring and the attenuator.
Drill chuck
A drill chuck having a chuck body, having a clamping sleeve with a conical basic shape that can rotate about the chuck axis of the chuck body, by the rotation of which clamping sleeve a plurality of clamping jaws can be moved relative to the clamping body. The clamping sleeve is made in two parts, having a conical, metallic outer sleeve, having a conical, inner sleeve made of plastic, wherein the outer sleeve has a cylindrical subsection on its inner circumference for radial centering of the outer sleeve on the inner sleeve. A clamping sleeve and a method for producing knurling on the clamping sleeve are also provided.
