REVERSIBLE MATTRESS WITH VARYING FIRMNESS
A reversible mattress includes a first outer region and a core region placed beneath the first outer region. The core region includes at least one core portion. The reversible mattress further includes a second outer region placed beneath the core region. The first outer region, the core region, and the second outer region are each made of latex foam and form the reversible mattress. The first outer region has a first outer ILD (ILD.sub.T1) and the second outer region has a second outer ILD (ILD.sub.T2) such that the first outer ILD (ILD.sub.T1) is lower than the second outer ILD (ILD.sub.T2).
FOAM MATTRESS HAVING AN ADJUSTABLE MATTRESS CORE FOR ADJUSTING AND CUSTOMIZING ITS FIRMNESS, ASSEMBLING METHOD AND KIT THEREOF
It is disclosed a foam mattress having an adjustable mattress core for adjusting and customizing its firmness. The foam mattress has a foam base having an upper surface defining a top recess; and a plurality of foam inserts each configured to be disposed and assembled into the top recess to fill the top recess and form the mattress core with a continued upper surface of the mattress. The inserts are provided with at least two different firmness of the foam, preferably with three different firmness of the foam selected from firm, medium and soft, producing as such an inexpensive, novel consumer-adjustable mattress in which the consumer can change the firmness of the entire mattress and/or the firmness on either side of the bed to accommodate each sleeper and/or the firmness under certain “body zones” within the mattress for their own personalized comfort preference and to reduce tossing and turning.

AN INTERNAL SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR CUSHIONS, MATTRESSES AND THE LIKE
An internal support system for a cushion, mattress or the like, for supporting the body of a user, the internal support system including: a main portion having a body facing side that substantially opposes a base side; and a support portion located at least partly within the main portion, the support portion including a core portion and at least one peripheral portion which extends laterally from the core portion, wherein the height of the core portion is greater than the height of the at least one peripheral portion, the height being that as determined in the direction from the base side to the body facing side of the main portion, wherein the support portion is more resistant to deformation than the main portion.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CUSTOMIZING A MATTRESS
A method for customizing a mattress includes acquiring a three dimensional image of a body of a user and preparing, by a processor, a three dimensional model of the body of the user using the three-dimensional image. The method also includes dividing, by the processor, the three dimensional model into a plurality of sections arranged parallel to each other and arrayed along a height of the three dimensional model, and determining a downward pressure to be exerted by each of the plurality of sections on the mattress. The method further includes determining, by the processor, one or more parameters associated with at least one portion of the mattress adapted to be arranged underneath an associated section when person lies on the mattress based on the determined downward pressure or topography.
Compartmented cushioning device and method
The present application is directed to a Compartmented Cushioning Device and Method offering one or more cool or warm feeling compartments, formed between or surrounded by one or more components, with each component, including filler material encased in surface material. The presence of one or more compartment openings provide access to the one or more compartments; whereby a user has multiple options when placing all or part of one or more of their fingers, hands, wrists, or arms into either the same or separate compartments to cushion, insulate, or protect them; while in addition, allowing the user to cushion, insulate, or protect, as well as support, adjust, or precisely position their head, face, or other parts of their body. A mattress configured for placement on a foundation that has forced air ventilation with a plurality of air vents on the upwardly facing side of the foundation. The foundation providing a first flow of air having a first temperature and a second flow of air having a second temperature, the mattress defining a first plurality of air flow paths configured to direct the first flow of air toward a first occupant of the mattress and a second plurality of air flow paths configured to direct the second flow of air toward a second occupant of the mattress. The mattress being configured so that air from the air vents is permitted to pass through the mattress.
Cushion for seating
