A mattress or mattress topper includes a cushioning element having an elastomeric material forming intersecting buckling walls that define hollow columns, and a knitted fabric disposed over the cushioning element and configured to move independently of the buckling walls. The elastomeric material includes an elastomeric polymer and a plasticizer. The knitted fabric includes a first layer of stretchable material; a second layer of stretchable material; and a layer of stretchable fill material between the first layer of stretchable material and the second layer of stretchable material. The first layer of stretchable material is knitted together with the second layer of stretchable material as a unitary sheet of fabric including the layer of stretchable fill material. A method of forming a mattress or mattress topper includes disposing a knitted fabric over a cushioning element comprising intersecting buckling walls and configuring the knitted fabric to move independently of the buckling walls.

This disclosure addresses mattresses. In particular, a mattress that includes a plurality of layers. A foam core of the mattress is constructed to have selected characteristics of support and cushioning, the characteristics varying from zone to zone of the mattress. The foam core includes at least three zones; a first zone corresponding generally to an area that supports the head of a user, a second zone corresponding generally to an area that supports the torso of the user, and a third zone corresponding generally to an area that supports the legs and feet of the user. A top surface of the foam core is formed with a plurality of parallel transverse peaks.

A wool mattress set includes a receiving mattress including a wool filling enclosed in a first envelope, combined with a base mattress comprising a foam filling enclosed in a second envelope. The wool filling of the receiving mattress includes a stack of one or more superposed wool mat layers, essentially devoid of wool flakes, and the receiving mattress is laid on the base mattress, the receiving mattress and the base mattress being independent and separable from each other. A comfort aid apparatus used specifically for the top of the resting/laying area of a couch to provide a more comfortable rest for the user both physically and mentally. Two foam sheets are encased with a sustainable natural woven fiber textile. The first foam sheet is constructed of natural latex sustainably extracted from rubber trees. The second foam sheet is a natural plant coconut fiber with a bonding agent of Latex. The encased foam sheets are then covered with a removable zipper cover which is also made of a natural woven fiber textile. In addition to a more physically comfortable rest on the couch and significantly helping preserve the resiliency and integrity of the shape of the couch and extend the life expectancy of the couch, the apparatus provides a comfort aid mentally, by providing a protective barrier for the user significantly reducing exposure to environmental and manufactured toxins which are on the surface of, or emitting from, the couch, or germs and infections from others who have had previous physical contact with the couch.
