20240324787 · 2024-10-03 ·

In some embodiments, the present technology can include a multi-layer cover material having a first material layer, a second material layer disposed over the first material layer, and a third material layer disposed over the second material layer. The second material layer and the third material layer can be coupled to the first material layer and, collectively, the multi-layer cover material can provide certain minimum (i) moisture vapor transport capacity, (ii) chemical resistance, and (iii) flame retardancy, among other characteristics. The multi-layer cover material can be incorporated into a cover layer of a support surface cover, which can be incorporated with a support surface, and used with a hospital bed system.

Furniture

Furniture articles have an integrally formed shell that generally has rounded features, the shell diminishing in circumference outwardly from a mounting surface, and a mounting portion configured to secure the shell to the mounting surface. A perimeter edge of the shell defines a mounting plane against which the mounting surface is to be secured. When the shell is secured to the mounting surface, the mounting portion is inaccessible and hidden from view. Furniture includes a shelving unit, a desk unit, a seating unit, and a bed.

MATTRESS WITH USER ADJUSTABLE COMFORT FEATURES

A mattress wherein a plurality of independent yarn based fire barrier fabrics encases a plurality of distinct and unattached interior core structures. The plurality of interior core structures include at least a detached and internally flippable upper comfort layer assembly with a plurality of non-homogeneous foams or filling materials encased in a yarn-based fire barrier fabric and a lower, interiorly disposed support core structure with resilient filling materials encased in a yarn-based fire barrier fabric and a fabric cover. The detachable and internally flippable upper comfort layer assembly may be contained in a user accessible compartment that is fashioned into an outer cover assembly.

MATTRESS PANELS INCLUDING FLAME RETARDANT FIBERS

Mattress assemblies including fiber panels generally include bicomponent fibers including optically active particles within a core thereof. The bicomponent fibers can be treated with a fire retardant or untreated and blended with fire retardant fibers. The bicomponent fibers are configured to transform radiant body heat of an end user.

Fire-retardant sheet material

A sheet material includes 30-70 wt. % of aramid pulp, 30-70 wt. % of a fire-retardant short fiber material selected from para-aramid, glass fibers, carbon fibers, and PEEK (polyether etherketone), and 0.5-15 wt. % of a polymer binder, wherein the sheet material is a non-woven sheet material having an areal weight of 10-70 g/m.sup.2. The sheet material is soft, pliable, and light weight. It can be applied as backing onto upholstery material without detrimentally affecting the properties thereof. At the same time, the sheet material has very good fire-retardant properties.

COMPRESSIBLE FOAM FOUNDATION FOR MATTRESS SUPPORT
20180242752 · 2018-08-30 ·

A foundation for a mattress is formed from a foam block and may also have supports that extend across the foam block's bottom side. The supports can be manufactured with the foam block or may be provided in a kit or separately sourced. The foam block is rigid enough to support a mattress and is compressible so it has a compressed configuration and an expanded configuration and its bottom side may have channels for the supports. In the compressed configuration, the foundation may be folded into a compact form and vacuum-sealed in a plastic membrane which easies in storage, shipping, and delivery of the foundation. When the foundation is delivered to its place of use, the compressed foundation can be removed from its packaging, allowing the foam block to return to its expanded configuration and placed onto a standard bed frame with the supports providing crosswise support across the frame.

MULTI-FUNCTION SHELTER SYSTEM
20180220803 · 2018-08-09 ·

A multi-function shelter system is disclosed for providing in-place sheltering for emergencies, which may be activated and accessed easily and rapidly, giving a user time to protect themselves during emergency events. The system may be implemented as a safety bed system, and includes a protective chamber into which at least one person may enter and seek refuge. The protective chamber may be reinforced to withstand large amounts of force and/or weight. The multi-function shelter system may also include a lifting device, a locking mechanism, a ventilation sub-system, a communication sub-system, and/or an electric sub-system.

FLAME RETARDANT COVER

Flame retardant covers for mattress and flame retardant mattresses are provided. At least a portion of the fibers, yarns or the fabric of the covers is treated with a blend comprising a flame retardant compound such as ammonium phosphate. The covers do not further require any flame barrier element such as fiberglass or silica-loaded rayon. The mattresses provided herein fully comply with the federal mattress flammability standards of 16 C.F.R. 1632 and 1633.

Apparatus and method for making a corrugated product
10035299 · 2018-07-31 · ·

The invention describes a device and method for making corrugated products. The device can be used with any substrate and includes, at least, first and second drive rollers for driving a middle substrate and a single wall corrugated product. In other embodiments the invention includes upper drive rollers, lower drive rollers and middle drive rollers for driving an upper substrate, a lower substrate and a middle substrate. The middle substrate is driven between the upper and lower substrates at a higher velocity to form flutes that are anchored between the upper an lower substrates thereby forming a corrugated product. The invention also provides for customized corrugated products having multiple fluted substrates in various desirable arrangements. Examples of such products include mattress, partition panels, other furniture and construction products.
