20230356303 · 2023-11-09 ·

A cutting insert is provided, comprising a top surface, a bottom surface, and side surfaces spanning therebetween, the side surfaces comprising one or more feed-facing side surfaces and one or more radial-facing side surfaces. The top surface is formed with one or more linear grooves, each constituting a chip breaker and being disposed parallel to and adjacent one of the feed-facing side surfaces. The chip breaker is characterized by a constant profile along the entire length of its respective feed-facing surface. Each of the feed-facing side surfaces is disposed at an acute feed-angle with respect to the top surface, and each of the radial-facing side surfaces being disposed at an acute radial-angle with respect to the top surface, the feed-angle being greater than the radial-angle.

SUPPORT ASSEMBLY FOR A CORE DRILL

A support assembly for a core drill which utilizes an improved high strength spoked reinforcer. The reinforcer may be removably mounted a core drill tube by fasteners. A drive connection is removably mounted and centrally located on an outer disc of a pair of discs. The drive connection is adapted to connect with a drive shaft to cause rotation of the tube. The assembly can also include a split in the disc when the high strength spoked reinforcer is not welded thereto, thereby providing a means of water control. The high strength spoked reinforcer can be a separate piece that is bolted to the disc or can be integrally formed as one piece therewith.

PARTING BLADE AND TOOL HOLDER THEREFOR

A tool holder includes a tool shank and a tool head connected to the tool shank. The tool head has a rear surface. An insert seat or a blade pocket is partially formed on both the tool head and the tool shank, and extends rearwardly of the tool head's rear surface. Adjacent to at least a portion of a shank side surface there is a reinforcement portion connecting the shank side surface and the tool head.

A drill includes a leading end portion. The leading end portion is flat and has at least two cutting blades extending from a rotation center toward outside in a radial direction. The each cutting blade includes an arc-shaped portion. An inside linear portion is formed in a linear shape and connects to one end of the arc-shaped portion on the rotation center side. An outside linear portion is formed in a linear shape and connects to another end of the arc-shaped portion on an opposite side to the one end. The arc-shaped portion has a cutting edge provided with an arc-shaped portion chamfered surface. The inside linear portion and the outside linear portion each has a cutting edge provided with a linear portion chamfered surface. A drill axis direction width of the arc-shaped portion chamfered surface is smaller than a drill axis direction width of the linear portion chamfered surface.

A rotary tool may include a base extended along a rotation axis from a first end toward a second end. The base may include a cutting part and a flow path located inside the base. The cutting part may include a first flute and a first ridgeline. The first flute may be spirally extended from the first cutting edge. The first ridgeline may be a ridgeline formed by the first flute and an outer peripheral surface adjacent to the first flute on a rear side in a rotation direction. The flow path may include a first sub flow path extended from a main flow path toward a side of the second end. A first angle formed by the rotation axis and the first sub flow path may be smaller than a helix angle formed by the rotation axis and the first ridgeline.

DRILLING DEVICE

A turning tool includes a tool body having an insert seat to accommodate a cutting insert and a mounting means for mounting the cutting insert at the tool body. A guiding block is movably mounted between a first position and a second position at the tool body. A fluid passage with an inlet end and at least one outlet is arranged to eject a jet of a cooling fluid from the inlet end to the at least one outlet onto a clearance surface associated with the cutting edge at the cutting insert. When the guiding block is in the first position the jet of cooling fluid is ejected along a first line and when the guiding block is in the second position the jet of cooling fluid is ejected along a second line, wherein the first line and the second line have different orientations and intersect each other at a position in a downstream direction from the outlet.
